Chapter 4 Made a Will
My body turned cold, and I had long lost my breath.
Jonathan’s finger stayed under the tip of my nose for three seconds, and his face turned pale instantly.
His face froze. He quickly withdrew his hand and spoke with a trembling voice.
“Catherine, I’m warning you, don’t pretend to be dead. Get up! Otherwise, I will throw you out of the house right now!”
He wiped his hands on his trouser legs and kicked my dead body.
But my body on the ground just rolled around and then stopped at the foot of the bed.
There was still no response.
I felt so painful that I closed my eyes in despair.

I didn’t expect that he was still unwilling to let me go even after my death.
Jonathan looked at the scene in front of
him, and his face froze.
He realized I wasn’t acting.
When he spoke again, his voice was
trembling, “Catherine… wake up, say something…”
Jonathan gently touched my shoulders and slowly rocked me.
The quilt on my body slipped off when I rolled over, and he directly touched my long–cold body.
The next second, he withdrew his hand as if he had been pricked by a needle.
His chin was trembling.
Jimmy in the living room was getting at little impatient. He kept calling Jonathan, and he was about to step into the bedroom.

Jonathan reacted immediately, got up, and stopped Jimmy outside the door.
Jimmy looked into the bedroom in confusion.
“Is mom not up yet? Is mom not feeling well?”
Jonathan panted heavily and explained, “It’s okay, your mommy wants to sleep a little longer. Can you go to sleep too?”
He laid Jimmy gently on the bed and told him a bedtime story.
Because he was nervous, he mispronounced a lot of words.
After making sure Jimmy was asleep, he breathed a sigh of relief and left the room.
Then he picked up his phone and called Kristina.
He entrusted Jimmy to her care for two days.

Kristina seemed to have guessed the ending long ago and was eerily calm.
She comforted him softly, “Catherine is not that kind of person. It was probably an accident. She loves Jimmy so much… Since it has already happened, you should let it go.”
“Leave Jimmy to me and go ahead with your work. When you’re done, just call me and pick him up.”

Jonathan’s irritable expression change when he heard her gentle voice.
He sat alone in the living room with a relieved smile.
“Thank you, otherwise I don’t how to take care of Jimmy.”
The next morning, he sent Jimmy to Kristina.
He gave me an extremely simple funeral.
There was no family or friends, just a jar of ashes.
Even the photo on my tombstone was cut out from our wedding photo.
After marrying me for so long, he didn’t even have a photo of me.
