“Oli, don’t look at me like that, please don‘ t…” His voice cracked, eyes red and glistening, resembling a child on the verge of tears.
I couldn’t help but scoff. “Oh? How exactly should I look at you? But let’s be honest, Landon–right now, you‘ re even worse than garbage.”
I quickly covered my mouth, mimicking Brittany’s playful tone. “Oh, I suppose that sounds a bit harsh, doesn’t it?”
Landon’s laughter mixed with his tears as he hunched his shoulders, attempting to gather himself. “I understand, but I won’t give up, Oli. When we meet again, I’ll still be your favorite boy.”
With a defeated slouch, he staggered away, but I called out, “Wait.”
He turned around, his eyes flickering with a glimmer of hope.

His expression shifted to confusion as he glanced around, his gaze landing on the blood and gravel smeared across his own face. Disappointment washed over him, coloring his features with regret.
He turned back, seizing Brittany’s wrist and yanking her forward, completely oblivious to the fact that she had sprained.

After a few steps, she stumbled and fell to the ground, letting out a scream of pain. Landon frowned in disgust, mirroring the disdain he had once shown me, and continued dragging her along.

Amused by my predicament, Eugene turned to me with a smile. He swiftly called the opera troupe and arranged for them to extend their performance for an additional two days, transforming it into a three–day
event.
When I returned, I made sure to thank Eugene, grateful for his thoughtfulness.
Eugene locked the car door, preventing me from getting out.
“I’m committed–unlike those rotten. eggplants who don’t know how to value
themselves.”
I blinked, puzzled by his unexpected declaration. With a quiet sigh, he finally opened the car door for me. As I stepped out, I caught his soft voice behind me.
“I don’t want to just pretend. That would make me really unhappy.”
I stumbled slightly, almost losing my balance, and hurried into the house.

Two months later, I received news that Landon had lost his grip on reality. After our breakup, he became indifferent to his company, consumed by a desperate search for his former self.
He wandered the streets, often seen sitting by the roadside, pulling at his hair while muttering, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that to you.

Just three days later, they held a lavish wedding–yet there were no guests, only reporters filling the hall. Landon never came to see me again; he was forever trapped in his quest to reclaim the boy he
once was.
When I heard the news, I celebrated with a large glass of cold beer, feeling a mix of excitement and relief. Under the starry sky, I impulsively kissed another young man on the cheek, swept up in the joy of the

I shrugged, a wry smile on my lips. “I didn’t want to, but he insists I belong to him!”
