Maybe it was because of Byron’s nagging, Julia felt dizzy. Seeing Byron insisting, she had to go back to her room and sleep for

Unexpectedly, when she woke up, she felt even worse. She clapped her hand on her forehead and got up. She slipped and almost fell when she was out of the room.

Byron crossed his fingers for her and said, “Stop talking crazily. I’ll get you some pills. Then he fetched some ice from the fridge and wrapped it with a clean towel. This was for cooling down

Julia felt sorry for taking up his whole afternoon. She suggested, “It’s late, I can’t imagine how busy our department was today since you took a day off work. Why don’t you go back and have some sleep? You have to go to work tomorrow”

What he said made Julia even more sinned. It was a rude that interns were not allowed to ask for leave unless it was for force majeure.
She was a little surpriseil when Byron asked for leave for her and saved her all kinds of troubles. But it was approved by the hospital director. It could not be fake. How come he made it so easily?
So Julia asked, “Did you bribe the Director?
“Of course not. The Director is too stubborn to be bribed. He hasn’t taken any bribes from the areas for all these year alone from me,” answered Byron.
That’s even odder.
Sering Julia’s confusion, Byron explained, “Stop worrying about it, Julia. I’m still a student. I can ask for leave for as many days as I want to cover my lessons at school”
The pills and ice didn’t work so well. Julia felt faint and barely heard what he said. So she believed his words for it
The night was late. Byron would not leave her alone, sick and weak. Plus, Julia didn’t have the strength to ask him to leave anymore. So she took some more pills and went to sleep. Byron slept on the couch as he wished. The next morning, Byron made breakfast before Julia was even awake.
After taking some pills and a good night’s sleep, Julia’s fever was finally gone. “You’ve stayed at home for a whole day. How about we go for a walk? It’s sunny outside,” suggested Byron
She could use some sunshine due to her pregnancy. So she didn’t refuse,
Byron’s apartment was close to the hospital. After a while of walking, they were already by the river outside the hospital. The air was fresh. And the landscape in autumn was amazing, Julia and Byron walked along the river.
Julia was tripped by a stone and tumbled. “Julia, come this way.” Byron supported her to walk on the path made of pebbles. Julia was about to thank Byron when she felt someone was gazing at her. She could not help but look around to locate that

His appearance took Julia by surprise. Then her eyes were fixed on the hospital paper bag clipped by his fingers, which probably contained Amelse’s reports or stuff like that. After all, Amelie was the only one who could make him put aside his business and come to the hospital..
Joseph looked at Julia deeply. They had not seen each other for half a month. To his surprise, he could easily sense the difference. She looked weak. Her face was pale due to illness.
Joseph frowned so hard that the wrinkles on his forehead piled up. He approached Julia, Meanwhile, Byron stepped between them and met Joseph’s gaze without flinching, shielding Julia behind him.
He said to Julia, “We have been out for a while. Let’s head back, Julia.” He was like a young lion, only showing his teeth and claws to Joseph to protect his precious person. But he was afraid that Julia might get hurt, so he wanted to escort her back to their safe zone.

Joseph looked at Julia closely. He wanted to detect a hint of unwillingness or denial from her expression. But there’s nothing. She looked normal. The way she looked at him as if he was a total stranger.
“You are right. Let’s head back,” Julia answered Byron. Julia felt tired just from the encounter with Joseph or Amelie. Not to inention come in between them again. That was the last thing she wanted.
“Julia, you haven’t gone to the mansion these days. Have you been staying with this intern?” asked Joseph.
Sensing the blaming tone in his question, Julia frowned and asked in reply. “What does that have to do with you?”
“Morn’s condition has worsened,” Joseph suddenly said in a low voice, “I came to the hospital today to get her examination
report”
It turned out those reports in the hospital paper bag were not Amelie’s,
Julia asked eagerly, “How is Rylie doing now?”
Joseph didn’t answer her question. He was using her move against her by asking in reply, “Do you still care about her?”
Julia cared about Rylie as much as Joseph did. Rylie was like her mother.
She gazed into Joseph’s questioning eyes and thoughtfully answered, “Of course I do.”
“What you care most about is your little boyfriend, right? I used to think that you had at least a bit of sincerity towards my mother,” said Joseph sharply
Julia was not sure if it was her illusion. She sensed sarcasm in his tone. Joseph had a fierce expression on his face at the moment, as if Julia had done something wrong.
Byron narrowed his eyes. There was a mole under his left eye. He said to Joseph, “Julia had a fever last night. She just recovered from that. Could you mind the way you talk to her. After all, you are only her ex–husband.”
Byron stressed the last few words. The young lion was not as strong and fierce as the king lion, but he did not flinch, standing firmly in front of Julia.
Dark clouds covered Joseph’s delicate face. He was a few inches higher than Byron. He looked down on Byron from a height and asked, “Who are you to ask?
“That’s enough” Julia took a deep breath and glanced at Joseph. “I will pay Hylie a visit. Joseph, don’t take Amelie to the mansion if you want her to recover. But if you insist on doing that, there’s nothing I can say. She only wanted to stay away
