Fulfilling all the regrets from that dream.
When we graduated from college, Simon and I got our marriage certificate.
The wedding was still in the planning stages.
I wanted it to be simple and low–key, but Simon and his parents wouldn’t have it.
Just after getting the certificate, I moved into Simon’s house.
When he went to the bathroom to shower.
I once again felt that pearl earring I had lost before under his pillow.
But this time, I didn’t put it back. Instead, I put it on my own ear.
And, I only wore the earring.
When Simon came out of the shower, I was lying on his bed, covered tightly with his
blanket, pretending to be asleep.
“Lola?”
A warm kiss gently fell on my cheek.
I felt a bit ticklish, my eyelashes fluttering slightly, but I still didn’t open my eyes.
Simon seemed to chuckle softly and kissed me again before lifting the blanket to get into
bed.
