Chapter 22
Hannah kneeled outside the villa for a full day and night before her body couldn’t take it anymore. She finally passed out.
When she woke up, there was no sign of
of Seamus or Keanu. She’d been returned to her rental apartment.
She could hear Fred and Mabel’s voices coming from outside the room.
“Let’s just go home today. We can’t stick around here any longer. Hannah won’t listen to us. She’s perfectly capable of running off whenever she wants. We should just pack things up and go while she’s still unconscious!” Mabel said in agitation..
Fred nodded and agreed to her suggestion.
When the door to the room opened, Hannah fought her way out and ran off as fast as she could. Although she didn’t even stop to put her shoes on, she didn’t forget to take her phone with her.
She didn’t know who she could seek help from anymore. Both Seamus and Keanu were being so cruel to her. Amid her panic, she suddenly thought of Vanessa
“Yes, Vanessa! She’s land, and it’s easy to arouse her sympathy! I’m sure she ‘ll forgive me!”
Hannah got a train to firphia to look for Vanessa. When Seamus and Keanu heard about this, they hurriedly instructed people to stop Hannah at Jirphia, denying her
the chance to meet up with Vanessa,
They hadn’t even gotten the chance to see Vanessa yet. They wouldn’t let Hannah beat them to it
Seamus and Reanu’s men discovered several groups of people that Charles had sent over to keep an eye on them. Since they were in Xerton, they were the ones with the power and influence.
As if to taunt Charles, Seamus led a bunch of his subordinates over to break the limbs of the people Charles sent before sending them back to him.
Keanu didn’t stand by and do nothing either. He set up his own people at Jirphia. That way, the next time they made a trip there, they wouldn’t be as helpless as they were the last time.
On this day, it was the fifth time Keanu and Seamus came over to Maya’s house to acknowledge the errors of their ways.
“Aunt Maya, we really do know what we’ve done wrong. We’ve thought things through and have decided to forego our feelings for Nessa. We just want to attend her wedding as her childhood friends who have been like her brothers too. That’s all,” Keanu lied.
Seamus nodded along, doing his best to appear innocent.
“Please help us fulfill this wish of ours, Aunt Maya. After all, we’ve lown Nessa for so many years. We don’t want to miss her wedding.
“It doesn’t matter if neither one of us can be with her. We’ve prepared ourselves for this day. Even if Charles hadn’t been in the picture, she could’ve only chosen one of us anyway. Someone would’ve had to walk away in disappointment,
“We don’t want to be robbed of the opportunity to even attend Nessa’s wedding. Please help us, Aunt Maya,”
Maya was conflicted as she looked at Keanu and Seamus. She’d gotten the gist of what they did, and she had no way of controlling what Vanessa wanted.
That being said, having known Keanu and Seamus all their lives, she couldn’t help but feel bad for them either. They’d come over to beg her for help several times now. No matter how determined she was in the beginning, she couldn’t hold out against them.
Talding a deep breath, Maya said, “Oh, you two. All I can do is ask Nessa on your behalf, but I can’t make any guarantees about whether or not she’ll agree to it.”
Now that Seamus and Keanu got the answer they wanted, they quickly expressed their gratitude.
“Thank you so much, Aunt Maya. That’s all we need from you. We’re so sorry for the trouble.”
After sending them off, Maya hesitated for some time before finally sending Vanessa a text “Ness, Kean and Seamus say they want to attend your wedding. Do you want to let them?”
