Chapter 25
Kenna
Kenna carried a large suitcase downstairs and, upon seeing Nathen who had been waiting downstairs for a while, immediately rushed towards him.
“Nathen, I thought you were still mad at me. I’m sorry, I was wrong that day and said the wrong things. Thank you for forgiving me.”
The strong scent from her hair filled Nathen’s nostrils, causing his stomach to churn uncontrollably.
But he said nothing, suppressing the discomfort that came from his nerves.
With one hand holding the luggage and the other arm around her waist, we slowly walked towards
the car.
Kenna looked at the hand he placed around her waist, and a sense of joy welled up in her heart. A blush also spread across her face.
This was the first time Nathen had taken the initiative to have intimate contact with her since they
had known each other for five months.
She thought he had already moved on from the sorrow, she thought he had finally figured it out and
decided to be with her, her tone was full of joy and excitement.
“Have you not been eating properly recently? You have become so thin that it worries me.”
Nathen nodded and opened the trunk.
Kenna had a few more concerns, and out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the empty trunk, a hint of surprise flickering in her eyes.
“Weren’t we supposed to go on a trip? Nathen, why didn’t you bring anything?”
Nathen stared at her for a while before finally uttering a few words.
“Didn’t you exist?”
Kenna understood this sentence as meaning that he entrusted himself completely to her for this
trip, and his smile on his face became even brighter.
She helped to carry the luggage inside together, and then she pulled him and walked towards the front of the car.
“Let’s make it clear first, for this trip, you have to listen to me. I want you to eat well, so you eat well. I want you to take pictures for me…”
have to
Once Kenna’s box of words was opened, it could never be closed again.
Nathen listened all the way and rarely answered her.

Only when she felt ignored and looked over, did he utter a word or two.
slowly, Kenna also noticed that his mood was off today and hesitantly asked a question.
“Nathen, were you unhappy? Why weren’t you speaking?”
Nathen glanced at the navigation, his tone was very calm.
“I enjoyed listening to you speak.”
In that case, Nathen had also said it many times before.
Kenna finally let go of her worries and continued chattering non–stop.
She had talked too much and she was tired. So she took a bottle of water and unscrewed it, drinking
while looking at the scenery outside the window.
Her face changed as soon as she swallowed the water, and she looked at the person beside her with
surprise.
“Weren’t we going to the airport? Why did we leave the city?”
“It was snowing over at Lighthall, and the traffic had come to a halt. I changed my destination and
decided to go to the seaside.”
Kenna took out her phone and searched for a while, and then she saw the latest weather forecast.
“Did you go on a self–driving trip by the seaside? That’s great, we can go together to watch the sunrise. Do you still remember the last time we were on the mountain…”
She continued talking to herself.
Unnoticed, the scenery outside the window became increasingly desolate.
And on the navigation, the distance to the destination shortened from 20km to 10km, and then
became 5km.
When it became okm, the sky outside the window turned dark. Nathen stopped the car and turned
off the headlights.
Kenna was surprised that he stopped here and was about to ask him what he was doing when she
saw him rub his forehead and speak wearily.
“My eyes are a bit sore, could you help me get the eye drops from the back seat?”
Upon hearing him say that he was feeling unwell, Kenna felt extremely sorry for him. She quickly
unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned over to retrieve the briefcase from the backseat.
he unzipped it and reached inside, feeling around. She didn’t find a bottle similar to eye drops, only a stack of papers.

She opened the package, wanting to see what was inside, but her eyes couldn’t help but scan the
paper.
The moment she saw the content above, she trembled a few times in fear and instinctively looked at
Nathen.
And the person who said their eyes hurt, at this moment, had already put down their hand, turned
their head, and was staring at her without blinking.
In the bloodshot eyes, there was a sinister shade that sent shivers down Kenna’s spine.
