I had prepared so much, so excited to meet
her.
L
The day she was born, I held her and
promised her the best things in the world.
But Nate was so heartless.
I cried.
I cried uncontrollably.
I knew that the child I had longed for would
never be back.
I hated Nate. How could he be so cruel?
She was our child. How could he kill her?
The next morning, I got up, ready to go to the
company, but Nate called again.
I refused the call.
He always called again an hour later, but not
this time.
He kept calling.
Something was up.
“Sarah, why did you refuse the donation?”
As soon as I picked up, it was Claire.
I laughed. “I’m the child’s mother. I have the
right to refuse donation.”
“Also, I want my child to rest in peace, not be
an organ donor!”
I said coldly.
<
Nate’s voice came on.
“Sarah, I know I did wrong, but Mikey is
innocent. He needs this kidney!”
Nate begged. “Please, Sarah. Do it for me.”
“Just agree, and we can do the surgery
today!”
I laughed. “I won’t.”
“Sarah, I’m the father too. I have the right to
choose what happens to my child’s organs!”
“You have no right!”
I said icily. “Nate, you killed our daughter.
How dare you say that!”
<
“My lawyers are on it. You can’t do the
surgery today!”
I hung up.
They were probably desperate now.
But so what?
As long as I refused, their son wouldn’t get
my daughter’s kidney.
It was their punishment.
The driver took me to the company.
My dad explained everything to me about the
business.
The receptionist rushed over and said that
Nate was downstairs, causing a scene.
Dad rushed downstairs, and I followed.
Downstairs, I saw Nate and Claire.
Nate saw me and rushed over.
“Sarah, you’re here!”
He tried to pull me away.
“Come with me. It’s not too late. We can take
back the organ donation and save Mikey!”
Claire also tried to grab me.
The guards knocked them to the ground.
“What are you doing? She’s my wife. I’m
taking her home!”
Nate shouted.
I looked at Nate coldly.
Dad walked up and kicked Nate.
“Hit him hard!”
The guards beat Nate, ignoring his cries.
He was bloody and screaming.
I watched the man I once loved lying in front
of me, and I felt nothing but joy.
I looked at Nate and said, “Nate, you killed my
daughter. How dare you come here?”
L
Nate looked up, not at me, but at my dad.
“Why did you hit me?”
“I’m taking my wife. What’s it to you?”
Dad said coldly. “You’re taking my daughter.
What do you think it is to me?”
“What?”
Nate was stunned.
I had met him through work.
I was in charge of welcoming unimportant
clients, and I never told him about my family.
Now, he realized that I was the owner of the
company.
He was speechless.
