Knowing Kale as an honest man, Drake turned back to the maid

Kale couldn’t argue with that. He just explained, “Debra asked me to get her some detergent, which is why I went upstairs. When I came back, the maid on the first floor was gone, so I hurried down to the basement That’s when I spotted Debra sneaking around the corner, Everything that followed was part of her plan. Boss, you can’t trust her.”
Drake asked, “So, her faint is fake?”
“I believe so,” Kale replied seriously. I never touched her. If we can prove that her fainting is fake, we can expose her lies.”
Drake glanced at him and then at Debra, who was lying on the ground.
Just then, Lara came with the doctor “Boss, the doctor is here.”
“Good,” Drake replied curtly, signaling for the doctor to check on Debra
The doctor knelt beside her, his practiced hands examining her eyelids and pinching her philtrum, but there
was no response
He pulled out his equipment and conducted a few quick tests before packing up.
Drake asked, “What’s going on with her?”
The doctor replied, “She’s in a temporary coma, likely due to low blood sugar. I recommend a glucose IV. It would be best to move her to a warmer, more comfortable space.”
Drake shot a sidelong glance at Kale, who was visibly shaken.
“That’s impossible. She has to be faking it,” he insisted, his voice rising
The doctor shook his head “This kind of coma can’t be faked. I need more information. Did she eat anything today? Has she been under a lot of stress?”
Drake considered the question “She didn’t eat. And today has been hell for her. Right before she passed out, she was startled”
She’s been running on empty, both physically and “Ah, that explains it,” the doctor said, nodding emotionally. The shock pushed her over the edge and triggered low blood sugar. I’ll give her something to stabilize her. Once she wakes up and eats something nutritious, she should recover just fine
Drake glanced down at Debra’s bloodless face. Kale, sensing Drake’s wavering confidence, quickly interjected, “Boss, I swear, this is just another one of her schemes. She’s up to something.”

Debra was then hooked up to the IV drip. Lara entered with a tray of food.

Drake downed his glass of whiskey and waved her off.
