Chapter 12
RAMON’S POV
“Leave me alone now, Lorena. I have s
some work to do,” I said, immediately Sonia left the room.
It was no fun hanging out with Lorena, when there wasn’t Sonia around to annoy
“I thought you’d like to have some more fun! I couldn’t give you my all because that weird girl was watching. Now that she’s gone. I want a rematch,” she said, and licked my lips with a stroke of her tongue.
Lorena was a seductress. I believe the moon goddess placed her on earth to seduce.
It was fine when I was horny and in need of a sweet spot to bury my hardness. But when I wasn’t, it was just an irritation.
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but war is looming. I have the daughter of my biggest rival in captivity. I need to plan strategies that would help me come out victorious. Now leave me alone, and stop being a pest!”
The second I raised my voice, she knew to take me seriously. I felt the fight leave her body. There was nothing she could do now to convince me that her presence was better than her absence.
“Fine!” She stomped her foot stubbornly. “But don’t call me later!”
She turned around, and angrily exited the room…
I grinded my jaw as she slammed the door shut. Lorena was fast becoming a pain in the ass.
She had grown too long a wing. I knew how to deal with her, but there were more important things that needed my attention. Closing my eyes, I searched for my beta’s face in my heart. Luckily, I was amongst the very few alpha’s that had the ability to beckon on their wolves with their mind.
“Blaine!” I called his name once, and opened my eyes.
Next, I closed my eyes again, in search of my Omega. “Daniel!” I called.
Opening my eyes, I walked over to the portion of my room where there was a mini workstation carved out.
I pulled out the chair, and sat on it. Documents signed in blood and ink greeted me.
Some where land agreements I needed to sort out with other Packs. I pushed those ones to the side, making a mental note to allow Blaine handle those disputes.
The most pressing issue was that of the silverpaw pack.
Sonia’s father was even more stubborn than I imagined him to be.
He was either playing a smart game, or he was playing a dangerous one. Either way, 1 had never lost a battle, and I wasn’t going
to start now.
A knock sounded in my door, and they didn’t need to be told to come in before they pushed the door and stepped in..
If I had invited them with my mind, it only meant I wanted them here.
“You called, alpha, Daniel was quick to say,
“Take a seat,” I said behind my shoulders.
They drew closer to me, and did as they were told.
I continued sorting out the documents in silence, until it was just the most important issue in my hands.

Chapter 12
“Did I ask the both of you to brainstorm or not?” I questioned, reading the fine print.
“Is this about silverpaw?” Blaine was quick to ask.
“No, it’s about the women you fuck. Of course it’s about that cursed pack, Blaine!” I hissed.
“I’m sorry, Alpha. I honestly thought we were going to wait a little to hear from them. If we don’t in the next few weeks, then we can come up with something.”
“Shame on you Blaine!” I thunder, disappointed with the man I considered second only to me.
“You’re saying we should sit and do nothing, while they’re probably plotting as we speak? Do you think we have the luxury to do nothing?”
“No alpha. What I’m sa-”
“Save it. If you don’t have anything planned, well I do. I need you to take some of my finest sentinels to its borders, tomorrow. Lurk around, and observe as much as you can. Preferably, go in disguise. Don’t return until you have substantial news for me. Is that better?”
“Yes alpha.”
“Good And Daniel?”
I know he thought he was going to be left out of this. However, I didn’t plan to spare either one of them.
I needed them to be a little more proactive than they were being. Maybe it was my fault for shielding them a little too much.
They had forgotten how to play their roles as perfectly as they should.
“Yes alpha.”
His voice was strong, and audible. Sometimes, I forgot how much of a warrior Daniel was.
There was a reason I made sure he trained all my warriors.
“How’s training going? Do I need to come participate in a session! And don’t you dare think of lying to me, because I have my eyes and ears on the ground.”
“Truth is, we’ve not made much progress from before. The new recruits are slow to learn. I try to dumb down our training so they can catch up, but they’re just so lazy. I’ve never seen lazier wolves than this new set,” he whined.
“So it’s all their fault? It has nothing to do with the teacher? You’re telling me right now that if I come to train them for a session, there wouldn’t be a visible change?”
“I can’t say that. You’re the alpha. They’ll respond more to you than they’ll ever do to me.”
I slammed the documents in my hand on the table, and turned my head to face Daniel.
“How long have you known me? For years. At least long enough to know I detest excuses,” I ask and answer my own question at the same time. “You can’t look me in the eye and tell me you’re not partly at fault for the sorry state of our young warriors. Soon enough, we’ll have to retire half of the soldiers. You better have found a way to prepare the youngins, else I’ll prepare you as manure for the grasses in my compound. Is that clear?”
He nodded wordlessly.
“If I’ve made myself clear enough, then you can leave. I want to speak to Blaine alone.”
He
e rose to
his feet, bowed, and walked out of the room.
“He’s audacious, but he’s less of a disappointment than you’re being. I let you have my mate and you can’t even use your

brain?” 1 turned to Blaine when Daniel had left.
“I’m sorry, Ramon.”
“You better be. I’m not going to let Sonia’s father defeat me. If you’re not going to help me out, there’s no reason to remain my Beta. Have I made myself clear enough?
“You have.”
I pause for a few seconds to calm my agitation. I was being harsh only because I wanted us to come out victorious.
This paranoia only started when Sonia mentioned her plans for revenge. Revenge that was never going to see the light of the day if I had anything to say about it.
“I have an idea,” he suddenly said, making me smile,
I liked ideas. They gave room for more ideas. Before you knew it, you had a solution.
“Go on.”
“If you really want to get under Silverpaws skin, why not parade Sonia in the festival of alphas. In a way they can see her, but can never come close to her?”
“Hmmm,” I stroked my chin. “You may be up to something, Blaine, 1 said, as the plan began to strengthen in my mind.
