fonly flashed it for a moment, then withdrew the badge, surrounded by surprised gazes.
Mr. Wyatt, can you answer my question now?”
“Cash or card?”
Mindy Wyatt stared at me intently for a long time before turning her gaze to a bewildered
Homis Les
“Honey, didn’t you say she was just staff?”
“Then what’s with this name tag?”
“If you don’t explain this to me right now, I swear I won’t let you get away with this!” Harris Lee was completely bewildered by his wife’s outburst, his voice trembling.
“Honey, what did you see?”
“Isn’t that bitch just an ordinary staff member? I’ve definitely seen her work badge before.”
“Dressed like that, how could she possibly be the owner behind all of this!”
Perhaps Harris Lee’s words emboldened the Chairman of the Board, as Mindy Wyatt’s expression softened slightly.
“Lynn, do you dare let me examine the item on your chest more closely? Otherwise, I find it
hard to believe.”
“From what I understand, the owner of this banquet is incredibly mysterious; no one has ever
seen her face.”
“Who knows? You probably stole it from somewhere.”
I never imagined that the esteemed Chairman of the Board of a company would so easily believe a man’s words. Remembering the humiliation she previously inflicted upon me, I decided
to tease her a bit more,
“Mr. Wyatt, that was your only chance. I already offered it to you.”
“Whether you believe me or not is your concern, not mine.”
After hearing what I said, Mindy Wyatt immediately fell into deep thought. Harris Lee, seeing that his wife didn’t believe him, couldn’t help but interject.
“Honey, you’re the Chairman of the Board of Wyatt Group, a renowned entrepreneur in Cloud City. How can you let yourself be deceived by a nobody?”
“Yulia Lynn is just an ordinary staff member, I assure you!”
“Think about it, if she were hosting this banquet, why would she even bother competing with
you?”
Hearing Harris Lee’s words, I nearly burst out laughing right then and there.
“Mr. Wyatt, I advise you to consider this carefully.”
“If you don’t hand over the money today, believe me, I’ll bankrupt the entire Wyatt Group“” Mindy Wyatt was taken aback by my sudden outburst, and her face turned rather unpleasant. After all, one hundred million might not be much to the Wyatt Group, but forcing Mindy Wyatt to withdraw that much money from the company at once would undoubtedly

unpleasant. After all, one hundred million might not be much to the Wyatt Group, but forcing Mindy Wyatt to withdraw that much money from the company at once would undoubtedly cause dissatisfaction among the other shareholders.
Just as Mindy Wyatt was hesitating, Harris Lee, ever the fool, stepped forward again.
“Why should we take your word for it that it’s worth a hundred million? I say you’re
deliberately inflating the price!”
“If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t be spending nearly this much!”
The moment he said that, Mindy Wyatt’s eyes lit up.
“Exactly! My husband’s right. Before I hand over a hundred million, you need to prove you
have that kind of money too.”
“Otherwise, this auction is null and void!”
No sooner had she spoken than Mindy Wyatt self–righteously began stirring up the
surrounding guests.
“I demand an on–site verification of funds!”
I anticipated Mindy Wyatt would say that, so I wasn’t flustered in the slightest.
“After all the commotion tonight, you’ve finally gotten to the main point.”
“The suggestion to verify the funds is a good one, and I accept!”
Amidst the surprised gazes of the crowd, I slowly walked to the front of the stage.
“First of all, I’m honored that all of you busy executives could take the time to attend this
Banquet.”

“To express my gratitude, I’ve decided to give you all another opportunity to choose sides.”
Before I could finish speaking, the guests below the stage immediately stood up, each one
eager and ready for action.
“Where did this nobody crawl out from? Who the hell do you think you are, daring to tell us to
step aside?”
“Exactly! Who knows where she stole that work badge from, pretending to be with the
Organizer!”
“Little bitch, everyone here is a respectable figure in the business world. I suggest you keep a
low profile!”
I looked at this group of self–righteous businessmen below the stage and couldn’t help but
find it amusing.
“Alright, alright, I’m tired of playing along with your little charade for so long.”
“Now, watch my performance.”
With that, I took out my phone in front of everyone.
“Hello, get the banquet manager over here. Someone bid on an item and isn’t paying.”
I hung up the phone and glanced at the clock on the wall, silently counting down in my r Before I even reached ten, hurried footsteps echoed from outside the hall.
Just as the guests began speculating about the identity of the benefactor behind this charity banquet, a man who appeared to be about my age rushed in. His arrival stunned

everyone into silence; they stared at me in disbelief.
“It’s Mr. Charles?”
“How is it that this young master, who never leaves home, is here? Isn’t he from Capital City?”
“We’re done for. Even Mr. Charles has shown up. Looks like we backed the wrong horse.”
As the surrounding whispers grew louder, Harris Lee’s face grew increasingly grim. He probably couldn’t fathom, even on his deathbed, how I could be connected to a big shot from Capital City. Meanwhile, Mindy Wyatt, representing the Cloud City business community, had
already risen to greet him.
“Mr. Charles, I’m the Chairman of the Board of the Wyatt Group. We’ve even met for dinner
before.”
However, Mr. Charles from Capital City didn’t even spare her a glance, heading straight for
- me. He then bowed deeply, at a ninety–degree angle.
“Ms. Lynn, what can I do for you?”
I gave him a slight nod, my tone indifferent.
“Charles, what’s the procedure when someone bids on an item and then refuses to pay?”
My seemingly casual remark immediately wiped the smile off the face of this young master
from the Capital City.
“Who? Who would dare?”
“To my knowledge, this has never happened at the banquet before.”
“However, Ms. Lynn, rest assured, if such a situation were to occur, I would pursue it to the
fullest extent, regardless of the cost.*
As soon as the words were spoken, the scene erupted in an uproar.
“My God, what is going on? How does this woman know Mr. Charles from the Southgate
family in Capital City?”
“I don’t know either. Didn’t they say she was just a staff member? Why is Mr. Charles being so
respectful to her?”
“Wait! If what she said before is true, then the Wyatt Group is probably in serious trouble today…
Ignoring the surrounding chatter, I slowly walked up to Mindy Wyatt, looking at her
meaningfully.
“Mr. Wyatt, are you ready to pay now?”
