Chloe was trying to influence my thinking again.
“There’s no such thing as class differences. I think he just says one thing but thinks another.”
“Are you really going to give up on Uncle Knight?”

I admit, when I heard from the boss that Jasper had feelings for me, I was genuinely interested.
Jasper is gentle and gentlemanly, giving people a strong sense of security.
Before knowing he was interested in me, I only saw him as a company leader.
But since learning about his feelings, my attitude completely changed.
I started recalling little details from before, believing they were all because he liked me.

Just one glance from him would make my heart race.
I believe all these behaviors were because Chloe had influenced my thinking, and after learning someone liked me, I’d convinced myself it was true.

It was really confusing me.
To bring myself back to normal, when a man I met through matchmaking asked me to see a movie, I didn’t refuse.
After work, I put on makeup and prepared to get a taxi.
Unfortunately, the boss’s car stopped right in front of me.
“Where are you going? I’ll give you a ride.”
“No need, I’ll get a taxi myself.”
I refused because I saw Jasper sitting in the car.
“Taxi fares are so high. Taking Mr. Knight’s car would save money–you’d be missing out.”

The boss kept urging me.
Besides, I wanted to test if my heart would really race.
As soon as I got in, my heart pounded violently, and my hands started trembling.
Seeing me enter, Jasper placed a cushion on my side, then continued working on his tablet.
“Where to?”
The boss asked me.
“The cinema.”
“The cinema, this late? With a guy?”
I glanced at Jasper.
“Yes.”
Jasper’s hand stopped scrolling on the tablet.
“Sara, as your boss, I should warn you. Going to movies with a man this late isn’t very safe. If you’re boyfriend and girlfriend, then forget I said anything.”

“Not yet, just someone from matchmaking.”
As soon as I finished speaking, the boss called out to Jasper.
“Hey, Jasper, don’t you have anything to say about this?”
“It’s their own business. Nothing to say about it.”
Jasper snorted coldly, then continued scrolling on his tablet, working.

As I got out and closed the door, I heard the boss sigh.
“Jasper, you’re going to be the death of me.”
