Chapter 6
Jane told me that after my fake death, Caleb was extremely heartbroken and announced to the world that I was his wife.
Even after Scarlett had her surgery, he never once went to see her.
When I heard this, I could only find it laughable.
What had he been doing before? Now he was putting on this act of deep affection, which I found disgusting.
My mentor called to tell me that a Mr. Grey had come to the school looking for me. After learning I wasn’t there, he waited outside the school for several days.
Fortunately, I ran away quickly enough, or he would have caught me.
I instructed Zachary: “Don’t move!”
He was currently serving as my dedicated human model.
This all started when I accidentally saw him just after he’d showered.
I was completely stunned—before, I only knew how to appreciate men’s abs.

Chapter 6
After studying art, I realized how superficial I had been. The distribution and thickness of muscles played a crucial role in
aesthetics.
“Like what you see?” he asked.
I nodded and said, “Would you be my model?”
My thoughts were completely exposed, and just as I started feeling embarrassed, Zachary nodded.
Since then, he became my exclusive model.
“Almost there. This muscle is nearly perfect–I need to spend some time sculpting it.”
“Take your time, no rush.”
After a long while, I signaled to Zachary that he could move freely, while I kept my head down working on the details.
Zachary received a phone call and said, “Tell him I won’t see him.” His usually gentle tone had turned ice–cold.
Then he added, “Fine, play along with him then.”

Just as he finished speaking, I completed my work. Looking at the sculpture that stood as tall as me, I nodded with satisfaction.
After hanging up, Zachary walked over and asked, “Finished?”
I nodded, then looked up at him and said, “This is a gift for you.”

Zachary asked in surprise, “For me?”

“Yes, for you. This is my first life–sized sculpture, and I think it turned out quite successful! That’s why I want to give it to you.” I knew this statement might be interpreted differently.
But that was intentional.
Zachary remained silent for a long time, then said something seemingly out of nowhere: “Do you still love him?”
What?
Now it was my turn to be silent.
Of course not. I’ve always been able to take things up and put them down. Once I feel something or someone isn’t worth it, I let go immediately.
When I truly let go, I no longer obsess over it.
Just when Zachary was about to run out of patience, I asked, “What makes you think I still love him?”
“Is it when we’ve been spending days and nights together here?”
“Is it when we were diving underwater together, and I reached for your hand first?”
“Is it when you were sick and, in your feverish state, leaned in to kiss me, and I didn’t pull away?”

I smiled as I questioned him.
Zachary cautiously asked, “So do you love me?”

I stood up from the sofa and said to him, enunciating each word: “Do you want me to continue listing examples? Whether I love you or not, you should be able to feel it.”
