The divorce procedures were handled quickly.
Hannah stepped out of the courthouse, staring at the divorce papers in her hand. Becoming a young, single chick again? Totally out of the blue. “Life is wild, Hannah mused.
As she was chewing over her new reality, Wallace chimed in with his ice–cold voice, “Head home and get your stuff,”
Typical Wallace, always with the commands. But Hannah wasnt having any of it today. She frowned.

Wallace waited for her to answer. Hannah wasn’t giving him that tame vibe he was used to. She was plain look was replaced by something fierce and unique.

Moments later, she shrugged and said. “Trash it all. Doesn’t matter to me.”
Wallace’s eyebrows pinched together, but he got cut off by this sweet, cheerful voice. “Wallace
They both turned around. Coming their way was a lady rocking: long blue dress, all smiles. She sashayed over and latched onto Wallace’s arm. “All done? Are we good to go?”
Wallace’s tough–guy act melted away. “Yeah, let’s roll.”
Hannah looked at them silently. She wondered what she’d feel if she didn’t have this amnesia messing with her head Even without those memories, her heart ached a little. ‘Who flirts right after their divorce–in front of the courthouse, no less? Hannah thought, feeling bad for herself for ever falling for Wallace.
Nicole Levine, all sweet and clingy against Wallace, made Hannab shoot them a look. “Talk about no shame, she muttered. They didn’t catch what she said, but somehow they looked her way. Nicole eased up on Wallace and drifted over to Hannah all smiley. “Hannah, I heard you lost your memories.”
Hannah felt indescribable disgust when she saw Nicole. But she kept her cool and just answered, “Yeah.”
Nicole’s smile widened as she stepped forward, pretending to hug Hannah. However, she whispered in Hannah’s ear, “But Wallace is still mine.”
Hannah couldn’t help but frown, realizing Nicole and Wallace were both nuts.
Nicole fixed her posture and, all innocent–like, said to Hannah, Hey, your makeup’s on point today. I’m not so good with that stuff. Think you could help me sometime?”
“Uh, since you know I’ve lost my memories, you get that I don’t how you, right?” Hannah snapped back. I usually only fix up faces for people who, you know, aren’t alive anymore. Are you asking for bad hick or something?” Hannah added, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Hannah rolled her eyes inwardly. She could tell Nicole was trying to keep her cool, but it was a struggle.
Wallace was annoyed for sure. “Hannah,” he called out, all irritate.
Hannali Ignored him and tossed out, “Have fun cuddling up here I’m out.” Then she turned and left.
Hannah did makeup, but her clients were the deceased. She helped them look like themselves again, like a final touch of

Hannah hadn’t been to work in two years. She needed a job, so she went back to the old place to see if they were hiring. As soon as she stepped in, a familiar face popped up. “Hannah, you back for real?”
Hannah nodded with a smile. But then she overheard people whispering.
“Isn’t that Hannah? Quit her job for some rich guy?” one muttere.
“Totally. Heard she was killer at her job, but the in–laws forced her to quit, so she did,” another whispered back.
“Yeah, but can she still do it after all this time off?” someone else wondered.
“Well, these wealthy families are full of weird rules. They claimed that working with the dead is bad mojo for business or whatever, someone added.
“So she got the boot and now she’s back here?” someone guessed.
