Dylan was stoked when he found out Hannah wanted her old jobback. Awesome! We’re looking for people, and you know tếs trough to get applicants”
Hannah was just as psyched. “Any chance I can start the paperwork now
“Of course, but I’m afraid that people might start talking” Dylanamed her
“I don’t care, the interrupted him. She’d overheard whispers on her way in, but Hannah knew her skills would shut them down fast. So, she jumped into getting her job back
Dylan hooked her up with a new office, and Hannah spent all afternoon sorting it out. When she came back with an armful of books, she noticed the wall of fame–and her name was on it. She saw a younger version of herself in the picture and cracked a smile
She hadn’t been at it for two years, but she felt ready to rock it even harder this time.
By the time she finished up, it was late. Hannah stretched, grabbed her jacket, and left the office feeling pretty beat
Out on the street, there was a slick, dark Bugatti parked. She only gave it a quick look before moving on, not really caring. Just then, she heard a voice say, “Excuse me, Mrs. Elsher?”
With no one else around, it was obviously for her. Hannah frowned and saw some guy with glasses giving her a smile. “Mr. Eleher wants you to come back to the Elther place with him”
The car window slid down, and there was Wallace, looking all serious. He wasn’t smiling as he stared at her with that bossy
attitude
Hannah sneered “First off, it’s just Hannah, not Mrs. Elsher. And if he wants something, he can come here and ask me,” she said, crossing her arms.
James was put on the spot. Before he could say anything, Wallace had already gotten out of the car.
“So you’ve got some guts now,” Wallace observed. Hannah was about to hit back with a response, favor Im asking It’s my grandma–she’d really like to see you.”
but he cut in, “It’s not a
Hannah’s eyes widened a bit as he went on, “My grandma’s getting old. I didn’t tell her we’re split up. She’s big on you.”
That left Hannah speechless. If there was one thing about her, she had a soft spot for older folks, especially ones that were fond of her..
It seemed like Wallace knew exactly how to play his cards–he was pretty sure she’d agree.
Hannah was annoyed but she wasn’t about to be steamrolled. “All right, I’ll go,” she said, standing strong. “But have your guy drive my car back, or I won’t have it for work tomorrow.”
Wallace narrowed his eyes. If James, the assistant, took her car, Wallace would have to be the driver. Ha! She’s pretty clever. be thought.
Hannah just watched him, pretty sure he’d cave.
Sure enough, Wallace nodded at James to go for it.

Hannah grinned and tossed the car key to James. “It’s the white Land Rover, thanks a bunch!” With that, she hopped into the back of the Bugatti.
James was left with the key, a bit lost. “Mr. Elsher…”
Wallace didn’t even bother with a reaction, just said, “Do it.”
Then, Hannah stuck her head out and dropped an address on James. She wasn’t about to give up where she lived, so she gave him her condo’s address instead.
After that, she beamed and arched her eyebrow at Wallace. “Let’s go. The window zipped up.
Wallace let out a little chuckle and got behind the wheel.
Hannah was feeling pretty pleased with herself. Take that, you jerk, she thought cheerfully.
As they drove, Wallace started going on about all the stuff she used to do when she came to the Elsher place. Hannah was so. over his nagging that she just waved him off. “Chill, I got this. I know how to be nice to Grannies.”
Wallace was worried she’d accidentally blab about their situation She wasn’t acting like her old self. But then he watched Hannah bound up to Melinda with the sweetest smile, calling her “Grandma Melinda” and all And he realized he had nothing to fret about.
Hannah made Melinda laugh. She could tell Melinda really liked her. On the other hand, Hannah was thinking that Melinda was adot sweeter than Wallace.
“It’s been forever since you visited, Anna. Didn’t you miss me?” Melinda teased.
“Of course I do! I’m just too busy recently, Hannah replied,
Melinda gave her a playful flick on the forehead. “I won’t blame you for that. Go on, snag some fruit. We’re not eating dinner just yet.”
“Okay,” Hannah responded. As Hannah reached for some fruit, a nasty voice cut through the air.
“Did you wash your hands? What a bad habit,” the woman scolded.
