Jake took a day off to go to Tiffany’s school.
Tiffany was wearing designer clothes.
She was acting rich.
Jake told her why he was there.
Tiffany laughed. “You’re a loser.”
She looked at him.
“Did you start to lose too after you stayed
with your sister for so long? I spent a million
dollars last semester, and you can’t even
make that much money?”
Jake got a call from the lenders.
They told him they were going to get him
fired and take everything.
Tiffany listened.
After the call ended, she said, “Loser.”
Tiffany was mean.
Before I came back, Jake was her punching
bag.
She was always careful with him because he
was older and stronger than her. She usually
had Mom and Dad on her side.

Jake knew she was getting all the money, but
he still helped her.
He finally couldn’t help anymore.
He remembered what I told him.
“Mom is the decision–maker.”
“Dad follows.”
“Tiffany doesn’t care.”
The anger built up.
Jake grabbed Tiffany and hit her head.
“Who’s the loser?”

“Who’s trash?”
“Is a million dollars not enough? Why don’t
you go make some money?”
“Why are you happy when I’m in debt?”
“Because I’m your brother?”
“You know that I can’t work, and Tiffany
ruined her face? Why are you trying to make
her work?”
“How did I get here?”
He sat down.
Tiffany was on the ground.
“How could I do that?” he said.
The volcano erupted.

Jake was arrested.
Tiffany sued him.
Mom and Dad asked Tiffany to dismiss the
lawsuit.
She didn’t care. “If it’s criminal, he’s going to
jail. He’s not getting out for years.”
Mom and Dad wanted her to write a letter so
Jake could be released.
Tiffany said no.
Dad was mad. “How could you destroy him?
You ruined your sister, and she didn’t call the
police!”
