Celeste‘ s POV
“Goodbye, Leo,” I whispered, my voice lost in the night.
After that, I took a deep breath. While everything felt overwhelming, I could feel the weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Then, I turned away as I slowly shifted into my wolf form.
My wolf then led me to the forest as the full moon shone above, guiding me back to the Ivory Fang Pack.
‘Finally, I’m free from you, Alpha!‘ I shouted inside my wolf as my wolf form howled happily for the first time in 5 years.
The forest stretched on endlessly as I kept running in my wolf form. Each step carried me farther from the Dark Night Pack and closer to home. The chill of the night air pressed against me, but I didn’t stop.

After all, I knew that the Ivory Fang Pack was waiting for me. That was the only place where I knew I would find solace for all of this. I knew that my parents would welcome me wholeheartedly.
Yet, there was this uneasy feeling that I had as I ran. It had haunted me for days. That scared me enough to make me even more exhausted than I ever was.
Since I was exhausted, I decided to stop to rest by a tall oak tree. I rested my back against its rough bark, letting sleep overtake me. Then, something strange happened.
I knew that I was dreaming.
In my dream, there was a silvery mist that filled the air. Then, I found myself standing in a field under the glow of the moon. Before me was a soft, gentle figure emerged. Her presence felt like warmth and peace, which made me realize that the figure before me was the Moon Goddess.

“Celeste,” she called my name with a voice sounded more like a whisper, yet it rang in my ears like a melody.
I knelt before her, not knowing why I was there but feeling a sense of calm wash over
- me.
“Moon Goddess,” I called her back..
After that, I didn’t waste my time as I asked, “Why have you come to me?”
Her eyes looked at me sadly as she stopped next to me. The Moon Goddess then held. my hands warmly as if she was giving me something. I had no idea, but there was this strange feelings that rushed throughout my body.
“Your journey has been filled with pain, my child. But you will find peace soon,” she said softly, stepping closer.
As she spoke, she reached out and her hands hovering over my belly. Instinctively, I looked down and realized what was happening. The life inside me was

gone.

That very realization made me fall to my knees.
“My baby… is gone,” I said as tears pooling in my eyes.
The Moon Goddess‘ grip on my hands. became together as if she was trying to soothe me. She looked at me with sorrowful expression as I cried my heart out. After all, my baby was gone.
“Some souls are not meant to stay, Celeste,” she said sadly.
The deity then continued, “Your child was called back to me, but this is not the end for you.”
Despite what she said, my heart still ached as I held my belly, feeling the emptiness settle in.
“But why? Why take my child?” I asked the Moon Goddess.
Her gaze quickly softened as she knelt down to my level and responded to my

question, “It’s because you are strong, Celeste. You will find happiness again soon. I promise you this.”
Before I could respond, she faded into the mist. However, her words echoed in my mind. I would find happiness again soon.
Not long after that, I woke up gasping as I could feel my heart was beating extremely fast. My hand immediately went to my stomach. That was when the harsh truth slapped me again.
My baby was truly gone.
I felt a hollowness that seemed endless. Frankly, it felt like a sadness I couldn’t describe. Yet, the Moon Goddess‘ s words lingered in my mind at the same time. After all, she told me that I would find happiness. So, I chose to believe her wholeheartedly.
After I took some moments to steady myself, I continued my journey. Eventually,

dawn, shifting to my human form again. When I saw my old pack, the nostalgia hit
me like a wave.
The warriors immediately recognized my human form and let me through, informing my parents, Alpha Theodore Albright and Luna Giselle Albright, of my presence. Surely, they knew that something was wrong. In fact, some of them asked whether I needed a pack doctor or not.
I thanked them and assured them that I
would go to the pack doctor myself. As I walked to the castle, I noticed that the
place I lived had become different. It felt
bittersweet.
Before I could even reach the castle‘ s gate, it already swung open. To my surprise, I saw my own father, the Alpha, stepped out. His rough face became softer when he saw me.
“Celeste!” he called my name, striding forward and pulling me into a tight hug.

Without further ado, my mother joined the hug as she asked me, “We were worried. What happened?”
I held both of my parents tightly as I felt the warmth of their embrace. For the first time in what felt like forever, I felt safe. Although my tears almost fell, I managed to hold them back. I needed to look strong for both of my parents.
“I… I’m home, Father, Mother” I weakly told them.
From their faces, I could tell that they were worried. Obviously, they wanted to know what was going on. However, I still hadn‘ t had the energy to say it.
Luckily, my parents seemed to know that I didn’t want to tell them yet. Eventually, they led me to the castle. As we stepped into the castle, I noticed the familiarity of everything.
It had been a long time since I smelled the smell of herbs my mother used, the sturdy

wood furniture, and the gentle fire crackling in the hearth. This was indeed. my home. My whole self realized of how
much I had missed it.
My mother seemed to notice my sad face as she asked, “Celeste, are you alright?”
For a while, I kept quiet before I shook my head. The Luna immediately gasped as she hugged me. As for my father, he became quiet. My father was never a man of lots of words, but he spoke through action. Instead, he caressed my hair gently.
“I will tell you later. But not now. I just need some time,” I said softly.
My father placed a comforting hand on my shoulder as he said, “Take all the time you need, Celeste. We’re here for you.”
“Remember, you‘ re our dearest daughter, Celeste,” my mother said, following my father.
What my parents said brought tears to my
eyes, but I forced a smile. I didn’t want to

worry them more than they already were. For now, I would focus on healing, just as the Moon Goddess had told me.
Indeed, it would take time. But it didn‘ t matter. After all, I was finally home. Away from Leo, Violet, and the Dark Night Pack.
‘At least, I was safe and at peace here,‘ I thought to myself.
