Celeste’s POV
Even though telling the truth felt very scary, I knew I had to confront it. I had to release myself from Leo. After all, I no longer wished to be his fated mate anymore after what he had put me through.
One day, I told my parents to meet me at the common room. Sitting in the warmth of the common room, I looked at their faces. Clearly, they knew that I had gone. through something horrible. But they still had no idea of what it was.
For weeks, I had kept everything inside for so long from them. But it was time to tell them the truth now. I had to tell them to gain their support to help me to summon. the Moon Priestess.
“Mother, Father,” I called them after I took a deep breath to steady my voice.

After that, I continued, “There‘ s something I need to tell you about Alpha Leo.”
My mother, Luna Giselle, reached out and took my hand gently as she said, “We‘ re here, Celeste. Take your time.”
As for my father, Alpha Theodore, he kept quiet as he waited for me to talk more.
I swallowed my saliva as I was trying to ignore the tightness in my chest. The memories flashed through my mind. My feelings were hurt, but I knew I had to go through it to tell them the truth.
“My husband, Alpha Leo… had an affair with Lady Violet, his former betrothed. She’s pregnant with his child,” I said, my voice barely a whisper.
The moment I said it, my mother gasped and cried. She immediately hugged me. As for my father, he stiffened for a while. It wasn’t for long, though.
“How could he do that? You are his fated

mate, his Luna! Does he not understand the meaning of loyalty?” he asked me angrily.
I looked down, ashamed of the pain that had followed me for so long.
“It wasn’t enough for him. Violet was his betrothed before we knew about our mating bond. He… he never let her go even after we married,” I told them weakly.
My mother’s face fell at what she heard from me.
The Luna asked, “Celeste, why didn‘ t you tell us sooner?”
“I didn’t want to worry you. And … I thought that maybe things would change.
“But then I had a dream. The Moon Goddess appeared to me,” I admitted.
The Alpha’s expression softened at what I just said and repeated, “The Moon Goddess?”
I nodded as I gripped my mother’s hand

tighter because of what I would say next, “In the dream, she took my baby away from me. I realized then that… my child was gone.”
My mother gasped again with tears brimming in her eyes as she muttered,
“Oh, Celeste!”
I could feel the weight of their heartbreak. It was my pain, but they felt it too. That made it hurt even more for me.
Then, I noticed another scent that shocked me. It was Albert‘ s scent. When I realized it, I couldn’t help but cover my mouth.
Albert, seemingly wanted to talk about the pack’s affairs with my father, turned out had been standing quietly nearby. Surely, he heard all of it.
He suddenly said with his voice shaking. with anger, “Alpha Leo’s behavior is unforgivable. You deserve so much better, Celeste.”
I met his gaze, surprised by the intensity in

his eyes. When I saw it even further, 1 could see the fury simmering beneath his calm exterior. It became clear to me that his loyalty to me was evident. His words comforted me, yet they also reminded me of how much I had endured.
“Thank you, Albert,” I whispered.
My father took a deep breath to regain his composure as he said, “This won’t stand. You‘ re back with us now, Celeste, and we’ll protect you.”
He looked at my mother, then back to me.
The Alpha then said, “The pack elders
need to know about this. We’ll call them for a council meeting.”
After what I told them, everything felt much better.
Not long after, we sat in the council chamber with the elders gathered around us. The air was tense. Everyone was listening closely as I repeated what I di told my parents. When I finished, the room

was silent. But I knew that there was a shared anger simmering among the elders.
One elder, Elder Matthias, spoke first,
“Alpha Leo has disrespected our Luna in the worst way. His actions dishonor not only his pack but all of us who respect the mating bond.”
My mother nodded in agreement as she added, “That is why we wish to summon the Moon Priestess. She may help Celeste sever the mating bond.
The elders murmured in agreement with their voices filled with conviction.
Albert, who had been listening intently, leaned forward as he said, “Let me help. I want to make sure Celeste never has to face Leo again.”
I looked at him, feeling grateful for his support. His steady presence gave me strength. That made me happy.
“Thank you, Albert. I don’t know what I’d do without you,” I told him sincerely.

Finally, the ceremony to summon the Moon Priestess was set up in the pack‘ s sacred ground. It was located deep inside our forest. This was a place we rarely visited, except for important occasions. Each pack had its own sacred ground, including my pack.
Me, Albert, my parents, and the elders stood in a circle. Then, we summoned the Moon Priestess with an ancient chant. Soon enough, a shimmering light appeared in the center of the ground.
From the light, a figure emerged. It was a young woman with silver hair that flowed down her back, her eyes like twin moons. The Moon Priestess had arrived.
She looked at me sharply as she said firmly,
“Celeste Albright, you have called upon me to sever your mating bond.”
“Yes, Moon Priestess. I, Celeste Albright of the Ivory Fang Pack, called you, Moon Priestess, to sever my mating bond from Alpha Leo Woodville of the Dark Night

Pack. I cannot be bound to a man who has betrayed me,” I replied, my voice steady.
The Moon Priestess nodded, but her expression grave. My stomach churned, which was a bad thing. I knew something wasn‘ t right.
As I expected, something was indeed not right.
“This mating bond can be severed, but all parties must consent. Your mate, Alpha Leo, must agree to this as well,” the Moon Priestess said.
I felt my heart sink at what I just heard and couldn’t help but repeat it, “He must agree?”
“Yes,” she confirmed.
The Moon Priestess then added, “The bond is shared between you both. Without his consent, I cannot break it.
The realization hit me like a cold wind. I knew that Leo would never let me go

willingly. Even if he didn’t love me, he would never let another pack see his
shame.
“Thank you, Moon Priestess. I understand,” I quietly responded.
The Moon Priestess nodded once more before she disappeared into the moonlight. All of us was silent because we all knew
that we needed to secure Leo‘ s consent in
this. It would be hard.
Albert looked at me worriedly as he asked me, “What will you do now?”
While it would be tough, I was determined to find another way.
“I’ll make him agree. He has no right to keep me against my will,” I said firmly.
My parents smiled when they heard what I just said.
“We’ll support you no matter what,” my mother said as she kissed my forehead gently, giving me her utmost support.

The Alpha also nodded in agreement as he said, “You‘ re our precious daughter. I‘ 11 never let you unhappy, our princess.”
The support that they had given me gave me a new strength. Surely, it would be hard. But I would sever my mating bond, no matter what.
Unbeknownst to me, my desire to sever my mating bond from Leo wouldn’t be easy.
