Celeste’s POV
Five days later, a letter addressed to me was sent. When I saw the stamp on the
envelope, I knew that the sender was Leo. My heart was in a huge turmoil because of that.
After what seemed to be forever, I read the letter.
[Dear Celeste,
I know that you no longer wish to be with me. If you want to sever our mating agreement, I’ll do it as long as you come here alone.
Leo Woodville of the Dark Night Pack]
Again and again, I read the letter.
Leo had agreed to sever our mating bond, but there was one condition. My estranged husband demanded that I come alone. It
was as if I could hear his Alpha voice

directed to me, cold and unyielding, commanding me to step into the lion‘ s den without protection.
“Absolutely not. You‘ re not going alone, Celeste. It’s a trap if I’ve ever seen one,” my father, Alpha Theodore, said as he read the letter over my shoulder.
I knew my father‘ s instincts were rarely wrong. The idea of walking into Dark Night Pack territory alone made me uneasy. Still, I also knew Leo wouldn’t give up until he had his way.
“Father, he won’t let it go. If I refuse, he’ll keep pushing, and it will only make things harder,” I argued, even though I shared his fears.
Then, an idea came into my mind and I quickly continued, “But what if I didn’t go alone? What if I took a few of our warriors with me? Enough to ensure my safety?”
My mother looked at me worriedly as she

also argued, “Celeste, I don’t want you going anywhere near that pack. Not after everything he’s done.”
I took her hand in mine, trying to reassure her, as I said, “I know, Mother, and I’ll be careful. I promise. But if we don’t handle this now, he’ll find a way to make
things even worse for our pack.

Finally, long silence, my father
relented.
“Fine. But you‘ 11 take five of our best warriors. And if there‘ s any trouble, you leave. Understand?” he said, his jaw
clenched.
“Yes, Father,” I replied, grateful for his
support.
Although I didn’t want to put anyone in danger, I knew I needed backup if I were to go through with this. I had to do it. Besides, I no longer wished to be bind to him.
The next morning, we set out. The warriors. surrounded me as we journeyed toward the

Dark Night Pack‘ s border, each of them alert and watchful. I tried to calm the nerves twisting in my stomach, but a sense of dread loomed over me.
After days of travel, we finally approached the edge of Dark Night Pack‘ s territory. I spotted the tall, blackened trees marking the border. We were getting closer to the castle.
A few of Leo’s warriors waited there. Their expressions cold as they watched us approach. My stomach churned even more.
One of my warriors, Marcus, leaned toward me and whispered, “Luna Celeste, I don‘ t like this. They don‘ t look friendly.”
I nodded because my unease was growing, but I tried to reassure him by saying, “Stay close, Marcus. If anything goes wrong, we leave immediately.”
The lead Dark Night warrior stepped forward. I couldn’t see his face well

because he hid it under a dark hood.

Somehow, it made me even more nervous.
“Luna Celeste,” he called in a voice that was almost a sneer.
After that, he contineud, “Alpha Leo awaits you. But only you.”
I took a deep breath, trying to keep my voice steady as I told him, “I won’t go anywhere without my warriors.”
The hooded warrior chuckled while he said, “Then I’m afraid you won’t be seeing Alpha Leo today.”
Before I could react, shadows moved around us. It was too late for me to realize that we were surrounded. The Dark Night Pack warriors sprang from behind the trees. with their claws gleaming in the dim light.
“Ambush!” Marcus shouted, shifting into his wolf form.
The other warriors quickly positioned themselves to protect me as they shifted

into their wolf forms, but the Dark Night
warriors outnumbered us. A fierce battle
broke out, shouts and growls filling the air. I fought as best as I could by shifting into my wolf form as well, but there were too many of them.
In the chaos, I felt a hard blow to my back that sent me tumbling to the ground. I tried to get up, but rough paws grabbed me, forcing me down. I watched in horror ast my warriors fell one by one, their bodies. littering the ground.
But the Dark Night Pack‘ s warriors didn’t even give me time to grieve. They quickly hit me, dragging me away to get closer to the heart of the territory. I was helpless as I was pretty badly injured and shifted into my human forms.
As soon as they shifted into their human forms, the warriors took me to the silver prison. It was reserved for the worst of criminals, a place of unimaginable pain. The walls were lined with silver chains

while the air was thick with the scent of burning metal.
But there was nothing scarier than when I heard that voice.
“Celeste.”
It was a very familiar voice. Leo’s voice. That was when I saw the Alpha standing before me. His expression was cold and his eyes were looking at me with fury. I
realized that there would be no mercy for
- me.
“You betrayed me, Celeste,” he said. bitterly.
Despite my fear, I forced myself to meet his gaze. After all, he was the one who caused me to leave. If only my husband didn’t betray me
“Betrayed you? You‘ re the one who betrayed me, Leo. You chose Violet over your mate, over our pack,” I retorted angrily.

The man immediately shouted at me,
“Don’t you dare mention Violet! Do you know what you‘ ve done? Violet lost the baby because of you!”
What Leo said left me with nothing but disappointment. As always, the Alpha chose Violet over me and he expected me to still come back willingly as his Luna? This man was surely insane.
I could feel my own fury rising, a strength I hadn’t felt in a long time.
Eventually, I shouted back at him with my cracking voice as I recalled how I lost my child, “Did you know, Leo? Did you know that I lost our child, too?”
The moment I mentioned my miscarriage, Leo’s face shifted. A flicker of something breaking through his anger. He took a step back with his face visibly conflicted.
“You… you lost our baby?”
I nodded as I kept talking with my voice barely a whisper, “Yes. But you were too

busy with Violet to notice.”
For the first time, I saw regret flash in his eyes. The Alpha looked away, his jaw clenched. But I didn’t let him off that
easily.
“You blame me for your mistakes, Leo. But the truth is, you destroyed us. You destroyed everything we could have had. And now… I want nothing from you.” I continued with a steadier voice.
Leo took a step closer. When I saw his eyes, there was an emotion I couldn’t place. But whatever that was I no longer cared.
“Celeste… I–I didn’t know. I…”
After that, the Alpha went quiet. But that wasn’t my business anymore. The pain of the silver burned through me, but it was nothing compared to the ache in my heart caused by him.
Leo’s voice softened, almost pleading,
“Celeste, I didn’t mean for things to turn out like this.”

Somehow, his response made me event agrier. I couldn’t help but force myself to look at him. While it felt overwhelming, I wanted him to know of how much he had hurt me.
“It’s too late, Leo. You made your choice, and so did I. I will never be yours again,” I firmly told him.
The Alpha then looked away. For a moment, he seemed like a broken man. But I didn’t let myself feel sympathy. He had brought this upon himself, so I wouldn’t let him drag me down with him any longer.
My wish to sever my mating bond from someone like him had gotten stronger instead.
‘You reaped what you had sown, Alpha,‘ I thought to myself.
