I was in my room, on the bed with my spongebob pajamas, my foot bare, tucked in front of the TV, even though it was 430 p.m. in the evening.
I couldn’t care less as 1 munched on the pretzels; it was so crunchy. I don’t even know how many I had stuffed in my mouth, I really should be getting on with some homework, but it’s Saturday. It’s called the weekend for a reason, which means free from all school activities and dramas.
This was my well–deserved time off.
I was munching away without taking much care of what was going on around the neighbourhood; my focus was on the TV, where my favourite vampire diaries were being played for the hundredth time, I groaned when I heard the sound of my phone ringing.
Why can’t I just have one free day for myself? Is it too much to ask?
Thanks to the heavens, you finally picked. Where the hell did you put your phone? I have been calling since this morning” I pulled the phone away from my ear before I went deafened by the sound of Maddie’s voice screaming from the other side of the line.
“Hey Maddie,” I said it sheepishly. I had been ignoring every call that came into my phone and didn’t bother to check the caller ID. But you can’t blame me, this was my time, and I needed a well–deserved rest.
When I am resting. I feel too lazy to do anything, even pick up the phone. I had only left my bedroom today, and that was to eat my breakfast and gather up some snacks and drinks to take back upstairs.
“Don’t you; hey, Maddie, me. She says sternly, I brought my phone to my sight. Going through my call log, when I saw 15 missed calls from Maddie and Sofie, 1 cringed.
“Okay my bad, but seriously, Madche, 15 missed calls. I empathize with the 15. Who calls someone fifteen times in just a few hours?
“I thought something bad had happened; why didn’t you pick up my calls or Sofie’s?”
“What could possibly have happened?” I laid on my back, my legs on the floor, as I swung them front and back
“I don’t know: you could get kidnapped by aliens or worse.
I’m okay, Maddie, I didn’t get kidnapped by allens, and I’m safely in my home watching the Vampire Diaries, so quit being a mother hen”
“I knew it; that’s the only thing that could have her attention for hours now? Maddie mumbles to herself, but loud enough for me to hear.
“She can’t help it, Maddie, you know how she is.” Sofie screamed from the other side of the line. I guess they were together. Anyway, let’s get to the reason why I called.” Maddie said before I could reply to Sofie
“And that is. Tasked
“We are having a sleepover at my place, so get your ass here,” she said, leaving no room for quest kimis.
“Hut… ” I started off just to be caught off by Maddie again.
“no but. Get your lazy bum off that bed of yours and be here in an hour? She ended the call without waiting for any excuse from me.
I took them from the bed and continued munching on the pretzels until I could get the strength to get off the bed. My door cracked open a little bit, and my mom poked her head inside.
“Bree, I’m about to make dinner, maybe you should lay off the snacks? That way, you can have enough room in that stomach of y meal” She said she was observing my slob–like behaviour with a hint of concern on her face.

“I will try my best.” I grunted out. “Oh, I almost forgot,” I say, stopping my mom before she closed the door. Im going over to Maddie’s place; we are having a sleepover

“OK, but be safe” she said, heading back downstairs,
I groggily stood up from the bed and went into the bathroom, I stood staring at myself in the mirror, brushing my teeth while slagging and putting my entire wall on the bathroom sink.
After spending 30 minutes in the shower, I got towelled and dressed. I fixed up my bed and room, then went to my closet to bring out a small bag 1/3

where I put a shot and singles for sleeping, then my phone and other necessities before walking out of my room.
“We’ve got snacks, candies, and pizza.” Maddie says this as she crosses her legs and grabs a bowl of popcorn. “And also our favourite smoothies: “I have got something to tell you both, and it involves a certain quarterback.” Sofie spread her arms, and I raised my eyebrows.
What could she possibly want to know about Hayden, And would it be juicy? I was curious, too.
“Oh yeah, spill. Maddie positioned herself so that she was comfortable and looked at Sofie in anticipation.
“You know how we went to the game an hour early since Bree said she was going to meet us there, and you wanted to see Dylan before the game.” Maddie nodded her head, repeating yesterday’s event. “Well, you and Dylan were so into it, practically eating each other face off.
“We weren’t eating each other face–off Maddie says her tone sounded so innocent that you could easily get fooled if you didn’t know better. Sofie and I gave her a blank that contradicted what she had said. “Okay, we did make out for some time, she added with a blush on her face.
“You mean a whole thirty minutes.” Sofie inputs with a scoff. “Anyway, Dylan and Maddie were so into it they didn’t even realize I had snuck out I decided to take a stroll around the school and ended up walking to the old hallway that no one uses. I thought I was the only one there until I heard someone shouting”
“Who was it?” Maddie and I grabbed a slice of pizza. I was curious too, students hardly go through that hallway since no one receives classes there again. “It’s Sophie; I couldn’t see who it was at first but was able to get a closer look at the person with her.”
“You saw Hayden and Sophie together at the deserted hall. Are they back together Maddie asked, and her tone sounded a little bit bitter and pissed at the thought of Hayden and Sophie.
“I thought so at first, but that was not the case. It seems Hayden is seeing someone else because Sophie tried to throw herself on him, but he bluntly turned her down, and they started arguing. She was saying something about a girl not deserving him or something. I couldn’t really hear what they were arguing about fully
Does Hayden like someone? If he does, why was he in a friend–benefit relationship with me? Was he seeing the girl while sleeping with me at the same time? I was really bothered by this.
“So Hayden has a new girlfriend, and Sophie is mad about that. Maddie asks before laughing out loud. Sofie and 1 looked at her confused; there was nothing funny about whatever Sohe just said, apart from Sophie being turned down. Tm sorry, I just can’t help it,” she says as she continues to laugh.
“What’s funny?” I asked,
“I guess Dylan was right; whoever Hayden was fucking must be really good in bed.”
“What do you mean?” Sole asked with the same confused expression as me.
“He doesn’t know who she is, but she must be his next new toy.” Maddie says it coldly. “Hayden doesn’t do relationships: I know that for fact.”
Why did she sound so confident when she said that! This was the reason why I didn’t want them to know about what was going on between Hayden and me. I was already classified as his latest toy.
The sound of the doorbell broke us out of the awkward silence and Maddie stood up to check who was there. “Don’t you think Maddie has been acting strange lately?” I whispered quietly to Sofie.
“I thought I was the only one who noticed. Every single time Hayden’s name is mentioned, it seems to peak her attention. Sotle replied, a concerned look grazing her face.
*I think she likes him. I hope she really doesn’t
“I don’t know, Bree; maybe we are just reading into things. She is with Dylan, and she won’t betray him or do anything to hurt him. She looks at
The bedroom door was pushed open. Maddie walked in with Dylan Daniel and Hayden trailing behind.
Maddie never said anything about the boys jolning us.
“What are they doing here? I thought this was supposed to be our girls‘ night.” I asked Maddie, she never told us they were coming
“Thanks for the warm welcome, princess Hayden said with a smirk on his face as he took a seat beside me on Maddie’s bed, I glared at Maddie, waiting for her response.

“The more, the merrier, I thought we could all hang out together. Alec is at his friend’s place, and my mom won’t be back till tomorrow evening.” “Come on, Bree, we aren’t that bad to hang out with.” Daniel squeals as he runs to jump on the bed, making it bounce up and down.

Daniel got down to the ground to sit beside Sofie with a duver wrapped around them. Dylan and Maddie were on the couch with their own duvet, which meant I had to share the one on the bed with Hayden. The light in the room was that of the TV; it was bright but not bright enough to see around the room clearly.
We scroll through Netflix, looking for a movie to watch, before sending on an action movie. Half way through the movie. I was already sleepy, and my eyes felt heavy when I felt a hand on my thigh under the duvet. I turned my head to look at him, but his eyes were focused on the TV, and he had a devilish smirk on his face.
“What do you think you are doing?” I whispered to Hayden.
“Relax, don’t make it so obvious” he warns slowly.
I felt tingles when he started rubbing my thigh slowly. I looked at the green–eyed boy, who still had his attention on the movie. I noticed how soft his skin was and how his hair casually fell over his eyebrows.
He always loved leaving his hair messy, which made him look hot
He turns his head and locks eyes with me without a smirk. It was like he was scanning me. His eyes rested on my lips before moving to look me in the eyes.
“I thought you liked action movies.
“Yeah, I do, but right now I am too tired and sleepy to focus” I say this to him in a whisper.
“You can sleep if you want to: I know you are forcing yourself to keep your eyes open. He whispered; he gently pulled my head down on his chest, and I was too tired to protest as I stifled a yawn.
His hand on my thigh moved to wrap itself around my back. His finger drew tantalizing circles on his hand, and it felt so nice.
I struggled to keep my eyes open but failed miserably, and in the end, I welcomed the darkness with an open hand as I snuggled closer to Hayden.
