Chapter 38
“I wish Maddie was here with us” I was a little sad, we always did everything together.
“Me 100, Bree; I miss her already, I just wish whatever fight she has, Dylan would be resolved” Sofie sighs, and I nod, agreeing with her.
Maddie wasn’t coming with us. Her phone wasn’t going through, so we decided to go ourselves. We got into Sofie’s car and drove off to school
“I think we better start going or we are going to be late” I say this to Sofie, stepping out of my bedroom.
For the past hour, after our little chat, Sofie and I decided to get ready for the game. Well we might have done a little karaoke and silly dancing while preparing ourselves.
I put on short blue jeans, slipping on the jersey, making it look like I was putting on anything underneath. I stared at the mirror to see how I looked and nodded in approval.
“Don’t we just look great?” Sote approves, standing beside me
“Yeah, we do. Now come on, let’s go.” I say, and the two of us head downstairs and out the door. Oliver was going to meet us there.
The ride was fun and fast. I looked out the window, spotting Oliver at the school entrance. Sofie and I got down, making our way to him.
“Hey Elle, Sofie.” He greeted her, his eyes lingering more on Sone, which made her blush.
“Hey, Oliver,” we both said together
“You look great, Sofie.” Oliver complimented. Sone blushed even more.

A smile formed on my face at how cute they looked, We made our way inside the school in the direction of the field, not before getting to eat during the match.
The crowd was filled with excitement as Sofie, Oliver, and I went to find an empty spot to sit. I watched as the cheerleaders did their routine while the crowd screamed in excitement.
We soon find a seat that is close to the field, and I take a look around. The flood light shines down on the green, luminous pitch. I looked around the field for a particular green–eyed boy until they finally settled on him, standing at the player’s entrance to the held

to ask Dylan how he was with the breakup and everything, but I knew this was not a good time to remind him about it, so I decided to ask him later after the game. The rest of the crew talked among themselves, discussing how the game was going to turn. Daniel and Sofie got into a silly argument about the number of points they were going to have and even made a bet around.
I felt a hot breath close to my ear and turned to see Hayden leaning close to me. “You look better in the jersey than I do he whispered into my car, and I felt a ball of goosebumps raise around my body.
“What can I say? I look good in everything.” I smile, biting my lips.
Hayden’s eyes darken, training on my lips. He placed his hand on my chin a and used his thumb to pull my lips away from my teeth.

“I guess we are” I whispered back as his eyes lit up.
The coach yelled at the boys, asking them to get back to the field. Dylan and Daniel ran back to where their teammates stood, but Hayden stayed behind, staring intensively at me, and my face screwed up in confusion.

I pulled closer to him, closing the little space that separated us, and my hips locked on his Our mouths moved in perfect sync and I melted against his hand around my waist. I could hear the cheers of students around us as Hayden and I pulled away.
A smile hit up on my face as well as his. A student in the field clapped, making a blush to stain my cheeks. Hayden stood up from the seat, giving me one final look before racing back on the field.
It was the last minute of the game, and the Wolves were leading ten points ahead of their opponents. Right now, Dylan was in position for the balli he passed it to a number seven, who later passed it on to Hayden, and they managed to make another souchdown
My voice croaked as I cheered along with the crowd, screaming at the top of my lungs in joy and relief. On the field, Hayden catches my eye and points at me, like he was saying. This was for you. I couldn’t stop smiling
The game continued for up to thirty minutes, and the Wolves ended up winning against de Devils forty to fifteen. This was my second time attending the school game, and I admit, I really enjoyed watching the game.
The field was gradually becoming empty since students were probably going to the celebratory after party. However, Sofie, Oliver, and I are waiting behind at the school parking lot for the boys to freshen up

“That was so welcoming, OIL Daniel sarcastically said, making Oliver groan out again
“I told you not to call me that Oliver said, giving Daniel a playful glare.
Daniel stuck his tongue out chiklishly, and that was the nature of their batter. I tuned out what anyone was saying, my focus solely on Hayden, whose eyes were already watching me. He stretched his arms wide, and I smiled, welcoming his embrace.
“I saw you cheering wildly at me, princess,” he whispered in my car.

“Um, are we going to the after party Daniel asked, and we all looked at each other. Dylan was the first to shake his head, followed by Sofie, and we all decided not to go.
“What are we going to do then? Tomorrow is die weekend” Oliver quipped.
“Why don’t you come over in my place, and we could look for something fun to do? Hayden chipped in, and we all agreed. Though I was a little sad because I wanted to spend the time alone with him, I guess we can do that later in the night
We got into the cars in iwas, and I was riding with Hayden. Sofie and Oliver were together, making Dylan and Daniel ride together as well. Hayderis car was at the front, while the rest followed behind.
We stopped at the driveway of his house, waiting for the security guard to let us in. The rate opened, and Hayden drove in. We all got down, Dylan, Daniel, and I had already been to Hayden’s house before, but that was not the case with Sofie and Oliver

We all turned to the sound of footsteps coming our way, and Lia, one of the maids in the house, walked in. She bowed her head, greeting Hayden,

Hayden used his hand to comb through his hair, something I notice he does whenever he feels uncomfortable about a situation.
“Why don’t we move to the theatre and watch a movie?” I quickly stepped in with the only suggestion I could come up with. Thankfully, they all agreed. Lia was ordered back to the kitchen to make us some pizza and juice while we walked to where the theatre room was.

I scroll down to the movie Squid Game, clicking on it. Just as the movie was abour to start, Lia knocked on the door, coming in with two other maids besides her. She was carrying two round pizzas in her hand, the same as one of the other maids, while the last one had a tray of juice. They placed if on top of the table, bowing slightly before leaving
We all immediately started munching on the pizza as I clicked play on the screen. I don’t know how long we sat on the couch watching the movie, bat we were in the sixth episode. I glanced towards the boys to find them so immense in the movie, and I almost laughed.
I cuddled closer to Hayden, watching the movie, and didn’t realize it when I fell asleep, I felt myself being lifted up by two strong arms. I snuggled closer to the comfort of the person, and I heard the sound of laughter echoing through the night while I welcomed the darkness.
