Tyler called before I could reply.
As soon as I picked up the phone, his deep voice came out.
“Tell me where you are.”
Perhaps Tyler’s tone was too strong, so I subconsciously told him my location.
“Open the door in ten minutes.”
He hung up the phone hastily after saying this.
I glanced at the spread–out suitcase and hurried over to pack it.
Before I could finish, there was a knock on the door.
I glanced at my phone.
Eight minutes. He came too quickly.
I opened the door, and our eyes met.
He had grown taller and more mature.
When he stood in front of me, I felt timid.
I silently took a half step back. When facing Tyler, I couldn’t help but feel guilty.
The next second his breath enveloped me.
Tyler held my waist tightly, his chin resting on my shoulder, and I could hear his heavy
breathing in my ears.
The sweat on his forehead also dripped down his hair onto my neck.
I didn’t respond, nor did I resist.
“Long time no see.”

I hummed lightly in response.
We really hadn’t seen each other for a long time. It had been eight years since we broke up when we were nineteen years old.
We hugged each other for a long time, until Tyler let go of me and looked at me with red
eyes.
“Why did you break up with me back then?”
To be honest, I felt guilty towards Tyler.
The reason we broke up was just because of my self–esteem.
Tyler was a famous figure in school.
He had a good family background, was good at studying, and his handsome face was just his least noteworthy advantage.
His family background alone was enough to discourage many girls.
But I was fearless at the age of sixteen. I so recklessly broke into his life and dragged him into
the mortal world.
Sixteen–year–old Tyler already looked mature. He rarely spoke, had a calm temperament, and was incredibly emotionally stable.
My greatest pleasure was to make him angry again and again and to see him apologize to me even when his eyes were red with anger.
The accident happened when I was eighteen.
I lost my parents overnight and became an orphan.
After my parents died, those so–called relatives came with “IOUS” and asked me to pay back
the money.
They said, “If you don’t pay back the money, we will ask Tyler for it.”
I didn’t want to drag Tyler down, or maybe I didn’t want him to see my bad side.
So on the day of graduation, I broke up with him.
“Yvette, say something.”
His voice pulled me back from my memories, and I looked up at him.
His eyes were red, and his hands tightly held my arms. He looked at me expectantly, waiting for my answer.
I lowered my eyes and said nothing.
Tyler laughed at himself, his voice hoarse and trembling.
“Yvette, you approached me first.”
He suddenly let go of my hand and whispered, “Forget it.”
Just as he turned around, I subconsciously pulled his wrist and whispered, “I broke up with
Chris.”
The tacit understanding between adults was probably to stop at a certain point.
We looked at each other, and Tyler’s eyes suddenly became turbulent.

He closed the door and held my chin with one hand. I put my hands on his chest and raised
my head to accept his passionate kiss.

What happened next was natural.
When the desire reached its deepest point, his hot breath sprayed in my ears, and his voice was bewitching.
“Yvette, marry me.”
He thrust harder and harder.
The words that came to my lips were broken by him again and again, and the only response to him was my sobbing.
He asked several more times, but every time he thrust harder when I was about to talk.
“Baby, if you don’t say anything, I’ll take it as your consent.”
After that, Tyler kissed my forehead lightly, with an unconcealable smile in his eyes.
I glared at him angrily and cursed. “Bast**d.”
My face flushed the moment I said it.
Maybe because I was too tired, my voice seemed particularly soft, and it sounded more like I
was acting like a spoiled child.
Sure enough, Tyler’s smile deepened.
He felt that I was not scolding him at all but rewarding him.
The next morning, Tyler was ready to go before dawn.
When I opened my eyes, he was fiddling with his hair in front of the mirror.
Seeing that I woke up, he coughed awkwardly and handed me a shirt of the same style.
When we came out of City Hall, I was still dazed.
After eight years, Tyler and I got married.
That afternoon, Tyler took me and my luggage home.
During dinner, Chris’s buddy called.
“Yvette, don’t be angry with Chris. He lectured Jasmine yesterday. He personally picked out a new wedding dress this morning. We all saw how much he cared about your wedding.”
