Chapter 3
After the interview, the sky got all cloudy. Then it started drizzling. Otis dug in his pocket and said, “Hazel, I left the memory card inside. Can you go back and grab it før me?”
I stepped on the wet ground and hurried back.
The elevator went down to the first floor and the doors opened.
I bumped into two people inside.
Rachel tilted her head, chatting with Adrian about shooting with the crew.
Even though Adrian seemed indifferent, he patiently listened to her, and they seemed really close.
As soon as Rachel saw me, her face turned dark.
“Sorry.”
I didn’t even know what I was apologizing for, so I turned and wanted to take the stairs.
Adrian called out from behind, “Wait.”
I froze in place.
“Didn’t you want to take the elevator? Get in.”
I slowly turned around and whispered, “Thank you, Mr.
