Chapter 7
With the help of the Sinclair family’s resources and connections, Rachel became a huge star.
Once the show started, millions of people tuned in to watch the live broadcast.
In the spotlight, Matilda asked, “I heard Mr. Sinclair and Rachel. are getting married. Is there anything you want to tell us?”
Rachel glanced at Adrian and smiled faintly.
“I never believed those rumors meant to tarnish his image.
“Adrian has always been the one I love the most.”
Rachel looked at Adrian with deep affection in her
eyes.
Adrian looked down and chuckled. “You’re lying.
“Do you remember how you couldn’t stand being around me when I went blind?”
Rachel was taken aback for a moment.
Her face turned a bit sullen when she noticed me.
But in front of the camera, she forced a smile. “I don’t quite remember.

I glanced at the comments scrolling on the screen behind me.
Everyone thought they were a perfect couple.
Setting aside the script, I gripped the microphone tightly and asked Adrian a question.
“It seems like you two have some differences. Is there something hidden behind it? Can you tell us about your relationship?”
I didn’t expect Adrian to answer, but after a moment of silence, he finally spoke.
“I was really depressed during the first few days of losing my sight. I. resented the whole world, including her.

“She would leave early and come back late every day. In her spare time, she had to take care of me, One day, she was in such a rush that she left the beef stewing on the stove and forgot to turn it off.
“When she came back, the kitchen was on fire.”
Hearing this, I was speechless, as if something was lodged in my
throat.
In a daze, I felt transported back to that evening.
The heat from the flames still lingered in the air.
I dragged Adrian out of the room, grabbed him by the collar, slapped him, and yelled, “Do you have a death wish?”
My voice and body trembled with anger and fear.

He didn’t argue like before.
Instead, he fell silent for a long time and finally asked me in a hoarse voice, “Wouldn’t it be better if I just died? Wouldn’t that be a relief for you too?”
In that moment, I realized that the man who once enjoyed the wealth of the Sinclair family was just a broken boy.
Gasping, I pushed him back into the room.
The wall, scorched by the flames, was blackened.
One by one, I unbuttoned his shirt and said, “You made me miss dinner. You owe me.”
He seemed to realize something. “You should think it over…”
I kissed him passionately, silencing his words.
“Adrian, you’re not a burden to me.”
That night, we indulged in the pleasure of love, as if we were the only two in the world.
But now, he brought up the past again.
Sitting beside him was Rachel, his beloved fiancée.
The whole world felt like it was their memory alone.
My heart felt torn, suffocating me.

Being so close to Adrian, his familiar breath surrounded me, leaving me with nowhere to hide.
This was the only chance I had to be this close to him. He no longer belonged to me.
Amidst the applause of the audience, he paused and added, “I’ll always remember how the moonlight that night was so bright, it illuminated everything.
“I couldn’t see, but I listened to her talk all night long.”
I clenched the pen in my hand and hastily lowered my head, tears welling up in my eyes.
