Chapter 10
That evening, Robert escorted Colette to a private hospital to arrange an abortion for her.
In the hospital corridor, she pleaded desperately, “Robert, please don’t do this! This is our child. Don’t you care at all?”
She was trying to awaken his sympathy. This child was her carefully calculated bargaining chip, and she couldn’t discard it so quickly!
“Robert, the baby is innocent. He hasn’t even come into this world yet. Can you really bear to reject him?”
Robert stared coldly at Colette without saying a word.
She clung to him tightly, crying pitifully.
“Robert, I don’t believe you don’t love me or our child. If you didn’t love me, why would you always appear by my side the moment I need you?”
He didn’t contradict her because what she said was true.
He deeply regretted his actions.
Robert thought to himself, “How could I be so pathetic? Just to prove I don’t love Lena, I got involved with such a calculating
woman.”

Now he only felt that Colette was too good at pretending; she had deceived him for so long.

“Colette, I only love Lena! Today you must terminate this pregnancy! You caused the death of Lena’s baby, so your child certainly cannot remain! If it weren’t for you, Lena and I wouldn’t have grown apart, leading to her eventually leaving me! I’m going to win her back, so you must abort this child and never appear before me again!”
With that, Robert left. He couldn’t stand looking at her fake face anymore. Before leaving, he specifically instructed his men not to let her escape.
She collapsed onto the floor, no longer caring about anything else, replaying his words in her mind.
She thought, “What did he just say? Lena miscarried and left? That’s wonderful! Now my baby is Robert’s only child. As long as I have this child, I’ll definitely be able to marry into the Ashford family! Previously, even though Lena was pregnant and the Ashford family agreed to their wedding, she couldn’t get a permanent residence certificate with Robert because she wasn’t old enough. Even heaven is helping me!”
In the doctor’s office, Colette suddenly had a depression episode, crying miserably and threatening to jump off the building.
Although this private hospital was funded by the Ashford Group, the doctor feared a potential suicide. Especially when Colette produced diagnostic certificates from three psychiatric

clinics, the doctor dared not force her to have an abortion.
While her guard was calling Robert, she contacted Zachary directly and told him the whole truth.

When Zachary heard that Lena had aborted the baby and left, he flew into a rage, nearly having a heart attack.
By the time Robert received the news and rushed back to the Ashford estate, Colette was already under protection.
Although Zachary was furious about Robert’s behavior, Lena’s child was gone, and Colette’s baby was now the only grandchild of the Ashford family.
Colette solemnly promised Zachary that her child would definitely be a boy.
“Mr. Ashford, you must have heard of the famous fortune teller Mr. Lewis from Atlanta. He predicted my child will be a boy, and he’s never wrong. In just ten months, you’ll be holding your great–grandson!”
Colette massaged Zachary’s shoulders and back, pleasing him. greatly.
He originally had no fondness for this obviously calculating woman, thinking Lena was more likable. But Colette’s child being a boy fulfilled Zachary’s long–held wish to have a great–grandson soon.
He thought, “Lena may be good, but she left so resolutely and

aborted the child. It seems she and Robert can never be together again. And Robert isn’t young, anymore; people his age are already married with children. I’ve already lost one great–grandchild; this one must be protected. Whether Robert is willing or not doesn’t matter. Hasn’t he always liked Colette? Why is he suddenly insisting on being with Lena? Well, once the child is born, everything will be settled. He’ll accept it. Men should prioritize their careers, not get entangled in romantic affairs.”
So Zachary smiled and called Robert back.
When Robert saw that Colette had already convinced Zachary, he was furious. He would never marry Colette or let her have this child. He still planned to find Lena and bring her back.
But when Zachary once again pressured him with family obligations, Robert lowered his head in silence.
Colette’s smug expression hurt Robert deeply. Thinking of all the grievances Lena had suffered, this time he refused to compromise. He found an excuse to take Colette away from the Ashford estate and watched her enter the operating room.
By the time Zachary’s men arrived, it was too late.
When Colette was wheeled out of the operating room, her face was deathly pale.
“Robert, I curse you to never receive her forgiveness for the rest of your life!”
love is like sand in the fingers.
