Chapter 6
Robert never imagined that Lena had silently endured so much pain.
She loved him so deeply, yet she had to watch him constantly showing affection to Colette. She must have been heartbroken.
Robert didn’t know exactly when Lena decided to leave him.
But he knew she must have silently forgiven him many times in her heart, until that moment of ultimate disappointment when she finally decided to leave.
Robert regretfully pounded his head with his fist. Even so, he couldn’t accept her leaving like this.
He made a firm resolution, “I must find her and bring her back!”
Robert locked himself in Lena’s room. Everything here was so
familiar to him.
The paintings on the walls were all drawn by her, hung up by his own hands.
The dried branch in the corner of the bedroom was something she had found while hiking. He had specially bought an antique vase for her to display this branch.
On Lena’s bed sat a row of stuffed animals of various sizes, all

gifts from Robert.

He still remembered her happy expression when she received each gift. This room held too many memories that belonged only
to them.
He picked up a stuffed animal from the bedside and clutched it tightly to his chest.
“Lena, I’m sorry. It’s my fault for realizing my feelings for you so late. I actually do love you, I just refused to admit it.
“Lena, I’ve realized my mistake now, please come back.”
Robert lay on Lena’s pillow, tears falling, apologizing over and over again in his heart.
He inhaled the fresh scent on her pillow, as if she were still beside him.
But the cruel reality told him that she had truly left him.
“Lena, even if I have to chase you to the ends of the earth, I will find you! Our wedding is still incomplete. I don’t agree to you leaving on your own
Robert opened his eyes, wiped the tears from his face, and regained his usual coldness.
He ordered his belongings to be moved into Lena’s room, as only here could he feel that she hadn’t gone far.

The wedding dress she had carelessly stuffed into the closet was now hanging properly on a rack. He would wait for her to return and wear it again.
Robert took out the wedding rings they were supposed to exchange during the ceremony. He put his own on his ring finger and placed Lena’s in the most visible spot on the desk, next to that old hairpin.
He thought, “What was going through her mind when she said she wanted to clear out everything here? This place is filled with our memories. Did she want to erase these memories too?
She even wanted to throw away this hairpin she once treasured. How cruel of her!”
Just as Robert was about to pick up the hairpin, his phone rang.
He glanced down at the screen to see “Colette” displayed as the caller.
When he thought about those Twitter screenshots in the email that he had never seen before, his heart inexplicably ached.
In the past, Robert would always answer Colette’s calls immediately, but now he felt somewhat annoyed.
The ringtone continued for a long time before he finally answered.
Colette’s aggrieved, dejected voice came through.

“Robert, didn’t you say you’d come to me as soon as the wedding was over? Why aren’t you here yet?”
He was too irritated now to even comfort her with a single word.
“I’m busy.”
Robert impatiently replied with this brief sentence and hung up.
On the other end of the line, Colette stared at the suddenly disconnected call, stunned.
Then, she frowned tightly, tears welling in her eyes, and cursed under her breath, “It must be that bitch using some despicable trick to ensnare Robert again. He can only be mine, no one can take him away!”
So, Colette took an eyebrow razor and made a small cut on her wrist, deliberately squeezing out a few drops of bright red blood, took a photo, and sent it to Robert.
[Robert, if I’m destined not to have you in this life, then I’d rather die!]
After sending this message, she leaned against the bed and counted down from five.
She believed that within five seconds, Robert would definitely call her.
“Five, four, three, two, one.

Colette stared at her phone screen in disbelief. This time, he didn’t respond to her.
