Chapter 7
“What! The villa has been transferred? To whom?”
Robert was furious. He already guessed who Lena had transferred the villa to.

He thought, “That was my wedding gift to Lena. How dare she secretly transfer it to someone else? That was supposed to be our home. We were meant to go there right after the wedding today and spend the rest of our lives there. But Lena transferred it before we even spent a single day in it.”
“Mr. Ashford, Ms. Moreau instructed her lawyer to transfer the villa to Ms. Wilson free of charge. What should we do now?”
Ethan felt helpless holding the transfer agreement. He could sense that Robert’s anger had reached its peak.
“What do you mean what should we do? You’ve worked for me for years, and you need me to tell you how to handle such a small matter? Transfer the house back to Lena’s name immediately!”
Robert practically roared these words. His previous despair and pain had been replaced by uncontrollable anger.
“And make sure someone finds Lena’s whereabouts as soon as possible!”

Robert couldn’t wait another moment. He wanted to confront Lena face–to–face and ask why she could be so heartless, so easily abandoning everything here, including him.

His mind was consumed with thoughts of her abandoning him, and he completely missed the message Colette had sent him.
At the same time, Colette also received this news.
She had been annoyed that Robert hadn’t immediately shown concern for her, but just after she sent her message, a lawyer contacted her.
She knew that villa was where Robert and Lena would live after
marriage.
Colette had hinted to him several times that she liked that
house.
But Robert had said it was prepared by the Ashford family for Lena. He promised that if Colette liked it, he would get her a similar one later.
Although he later compensated her with jewelry worth millions of dollars from an auction, she never forgot about that house.
Because Lena had it, and she didn’t.
Later, when Colette and Robert were having sex, she casually mentioned it a few times, and he offhandedly promised to give her the villa, but nothing happened.

She thought he still remembered this, and she excitedly spunt around her room.

She thought, “Lena is just a little girl. How could she compare to
me!”
Colette called Robert again. This time he answered quickly.
“Robert, I knew I was the most important person to you. Thank you for thinking of me on your wedding day and preparing such a big surprise for me!”
“What surprise?”
Robert’s tone was impatient. He was troubled by Lena’s departure and didn’t immediately understand what Colette
meant.
“You gave me Lena’s villa. You said before it was your wedding gift to her. Robert, I never expected you to care about me this much. Although you couldn’t give me a wedding, you gave me what should have been Lena’s gift, letting me know I’m the most important person to you. Robert, I was so upset today I wanted to die, but now I don’t want to anymore. I want to stay by your side forever.”
Colette couldn’t hide the excitement in her voice, but Robert found her happy tone jarring.
He had only made that promise to please her during sex; he never intended to actually give her the house.

But now Robert found himself in trouble because of it. He wondered whether he should take back what he said or actually give the house to Colette.
This time, he didn’t hesitate at all and told Ethan to reclaim the
villa.
It was prepared for Lena, and no other woman deserved to have
- it.
In fact, Robert had noticed Lena’s changes lately. She used to love clinging to him, and even when he showed impatience, she would continue to love him.
He had long sensed her unique feelings for him, which both delighted and frightened him.
He enjoyed her exclusive love for him while refusing to admit he felt the same way about her.
He had pushed her away with his own hands, but now he regretted it.
