Chapter 8
After hanging up the phone, Robert noticed the message and photo Colette had sent.
In the past, he would become extremely anxious whenever she suffered even the slightest injury.
But now, seeing the bright red blood seeping from her wrist, he felt unusually irritated.
He thought, “If it weren’t for Colette, Lena and I wouldn’t be in this situation.
But who can I blame other than myself?
Even if Colette did hurt Lena behind my back, I allowed it to happen.”
Just then, Ethan knocked on the door, returning Lena’s confiscated phone.
Robert took the phone and immediately locked the door again. He settled into Lena’s favorite rocking chair and unlocked her phone.
He had always known her password was his birthday.
Robert used to convince himself this was simply because Lena was clingy, which was why she used his birthday as her

Now that he finally understood her feelings, he changed his own phone password to her birthday.
Lena had only one pinned contact in WhatsApp: Robert.
But their chat history was from long ago; they hadn’t spoken for many days.
Robert went straight to Instagram to verify if those screenshots were real.
What he discovered left him stunned. On Lena’s phone, he could see photos Colette had posted on Instagram–many he had never seen before.
He specifically checked his own phone for comparison and confirmed he couldn’t see those photos.
Robert thought, “It seems Colette set these photos to be visible only to Lena.
Each Instagram post, each intimate photo, and each suggestive caption was like a dagger piercing Lena’s heart.
How much pain she must have felt!
That bitch Colette! How dare she hurt Lena!”
Just as he was about to put the phone away, he saw that Colette had updated her Instagram again with content visible only to

Lena.
This time she posted only text, without any photos.
[The favored one always fears nothing. Thank you for not forgetting your promise to me on your wedding day. You gave her a wedding, but didn’t forget to give me a gift.]
Robert gripped the phone tightly, his knuckles turning white.
His face darkened as he clenched his jaw.
Then, he liked Colette’s Instagram post.
She quickly sent a message.
[Lena, you’ve gotten bolder since getting married. You finally dare to respond to me. But what good does that do? You don’t even have a place to live after marriage, just a wedding ceremony.]
A second message followed.
[Want to bet? I’ll make sure you don’t even have a wedding night. You’ll spend tonight alone.]
Robert frowned deeply, thinking, “So this is how Lena has been bullied by Colette where I couldn’t see?”
Just as he was about to reply and reveal his identity, another message from Colette came through.

This time, he was furious, wanting nothing more than to kill her right then.
[Lena, be smart, get rid of that baby in your belly and leave Robert! Don’t think that calling him Uncle Robert and carrying his child means you can stay by his side forever. He doesn’t love you, so why degrade yourself?]
Colette was so excited that her hands trembled slightly. In the past, whenever she provoked Lena, she never got a response, which left her feeling frustrated.
She thought, “But this time is different. Lena is anxious. That makes things easier.”
Colette believed that with Lena’s temperament, if she provoked her a few more times like this, Lena would leave Robert.
As she was fantasizing about their wonderful future, she received no further response.
Colette muttered contemptuously under her breath, “Such a coward.”
Not long after, someone knocked on her door.
