“Let me go.”
Chad looked crazy.
L
He tried to touch my cheek.
“Lexi, forgive me. I need you.”
I spat on him.
“Give me a break, get away from me! What
did you offer them?”
Chad smiled and wiped off the spit.
“I told them where your base was. They’ve
probably taken it over.”
I was furious.
“You worked with terrorists! Do you know
who these people are? You sold out your
friends!”
く
“Why did you do this? Have you forgotten
what you are? What kind of blood runs
through your veins?”
Chad laughed.
“Anyone who helps me is a good person. Any
way I can get you, I’ll do it.”
I cursed him.
“You’re insane.”
Chad grinned.
“Hate me all you want. At least I made you
feel something.”
He leaned in to kiss me.
I turned away.
Chad grabbed my face and forced me to look
at him.
I was tied up.
Chad leaned in.
But the terrorists came in.
Chad was angry.
He stood up and turned to them.
“What are you doing? I’m busy here.”
The terrorists ignored him. They started
touching me.
I felt disgusted.
Chad pushed them away.
“Get away from her! What is wrong with you
people!”
The terrorists punched Chad.
Chad stumbled.
He said, “What’s going on? I gave you
information! You promised to give me this
woman.”
The terrorists laughed.
They looked at Chad like he was a joke.
“You actually believed us? You’re an easy

mark. You think you can make demands?”
They punched Chad again.
“Our boss wants your woman. You should be
honored!”
Their boss tore my clothes.
He tried to kiss me.
Chad panicked.
“No! Don’t touch her!”
He tried to stop them, but they beat him to
the ground.
When he stood up, he was covered in blood
and bad lost teeth
L
The boss saw me crying and kissed away my
tears.
Chad was truly regretting what he had done.
I had given up.
Chad was naive. They were never going to
keep their word.
Chad tried his best.
He pushed the boss away.
The boss shot Chad.
Chad died in front of me.
He smiled at me.
His eyes were full of tears.
He mouthed the words, “I’m sorry.”
His blood splattered on my face.
I was in shock.
I felt nothing.
He deserved it. I wouldn’t cry for him.
After Chad died, the boss came back.
He grinned. “No one will stop me now.”
I closed my eyes.
I was scared.
The door was kicked open.
American soldiers stormed in and took down
the terrorists.
The soldier who had been protecting me put
his jacket around me.
He helped me up.
“I’m sorry.”
He whispered to me.
I shook my head.
“You don’t have to be sorry. You’re a hero.
You’re doing what’s right.”
I found out that they had moved when Chad
I found out that they had moved when Chad
told them their location.
They had followed the terrorists to their base.
As I left, I saw Chad’s body.
He was lying in blood, not the man that he
was when I first met him.
I had given up being a war correspondent for
him.
I had been so naive.
I went back to America and published my
photos.
They touched people and made everyone
They touched people and made everyone
think about war.
My photos became a witness to the times.
Chad’s actions were revealed.
He became known as a traitor.
I felt relieved.
I would go to the next battlefield and keep
taking pictures.
