Chapter 10
Tamara’s comment hung in the air, leaving everyone but Warren and Yetta stunned. They all turned to Yanina, shock written on their faces. ‘Mrs. Zamora? Could it be… that Zamora family?
Yanina frowned, shooting Tamara a displeased look. She’d promised Cameron to keep their divorce on the down–low, but that didn’t mean she’d tolerate being mocked.
With a sneer, Yanina set her glass down and retorted, “Didn’t you also step out to work, just like me? What’s the issue? Has the Harnett family cut you off?
“Fm the Harnett heiress, so spending their money is my birthright! Stop spouting nonsense!” Tamara snapped, her voice laced with annoyance.
“Well, I’m spending my husband’s money, so that’s justified too! Yanina replied coolly. “Besides, I’m not using your money, – so why do you care about my job?”
Tamara slammed her glass on the table, struggling for a retort.
Seeing this, Yanina gave a cold smile, glanced around, and said, “Sorry, everyone, I need to use the restroom. With that, she got up and left the private room.
Usually. Yetta would have accompanied her friend, but today, she was too star–struck by Shawn.
you see, that woman is married, Tamara said coldly as soon as Yanina was out of earshot.
“Hmph! Shawn, now yo
Shawn took a sip of his drink and chuckled. “Whether Ms. Fulbright is married or not doesn’t affect our business.”
“Exactly!” Yetta chimed in, nodding vigorously, “Whether Yaoyao is married or divorced is her own business. What’s it to you, Ms. Harnett? Maybe you’re just jealous of her great husband or envious she’s Mrs. Zamora?” Yetta glanced at her, a hint of disdain in her eyes.
“Shut up!” Tamara huffed, her teeth clenched in frustration. Realizing she was getting nowhere with Yetta, she looked to her uncle, Warren, but he was deep in conversation with Sean, not even acknowledging her. Angry, she got up and stormed our
of the room
Walking down the hallway, Tamara noticed a caution sign tucked away outside the restroom. She spotted a bunch of keys hanging from the door’s keyhole. A sly smirk crossed her face as she locked the restroom door from the outside, tossed the keys into a trash can, and placed an “Under Maintenance” sign on the door. With a satisfied smirk, she dusted off her hands and returned to the room.
Yanina stepped out of the restroom, only to find the door locked. She hadn’t brought her phone. She frowned and knocked, calling out, “Is anyone out there?”
It was silence out there.
Yanina pounded on the door, her voice echoing as she yelled for help. Still, there was no response
After a few minutes, feeling worn out from shouting, Yanina stood aside to catch her breath.
Suddenly, she heard heavy coughing from inside the bathroom She thought, ‘Is someone else trapped in there?
“Yanina glanced over and saw a frail little girl, about ten years old slowly emerging from the restroom. She was crouched in the corner, her cheeks flushed, lips pale, breathing rapidly, and sweat glistening on her forehead.
Quickly, Yanina moved to support the girl, gently rubbing her back with her left hand to help her breathe easier. But the girl’s condition didn’t improve; her coughing only intensified.

Seeing this, Yanina knew it was asthma. “Did you bring your medication?”
The girl sho
her head, her breath coming in harsher gasps.

Yanina frowned, set the girl down, and headed for the bathroom floor, giving it her best shot to break it open. Sadly, she tried for ages, but the door stayed firmly closed.
Yanina had to think of another washroom, and the girl’s condition was urgent. With no luck breaking the door down.
Now it was just the two of them in the
Scanning the room, she spotted the window. It was narrow, but she walked over to check it out. Peeking outside, Yanina noticed the drop was steep, about sixty feet to the ground. Below was a smaller balcony. All she had to do was climb over and make her way into the men’s room from another balcony to get the door open from outside.
Turning to the little girl, she said soothingly, “Stay here, I’ll be back soon. Don’t worry. With that, Yanina swung the window wide open. swing her leg over onto the balmst, and then eased the rest of her body out.
She felt grateful, thankful her father was a drug cop who had taught her all sorts of survival skills since she was ten. Things like diving from a–ten–meter board, surviving in the wild, free climbing… Jumping out of a window was a breeze for her.
Yanina smoothly flipped onto the balcony, opened the men’s restroom window, and climbed in. Inside, Shawn had just left a booth and was using the bathroom when he heard the window open. Looking up, he saw Yanina’s head coming through the window.
Their eyes met, and Shawn quickly pulled up his pants, his face turning red with embarrassment. “Ms. Fulbright? What are
you
“The ladies‘ room door is locked, and there’s a little girl having an asthma attack in there, I’m going to open the door. You find her family and get her the medicine, Yanina said seriously, ready to leave.
“Hold on, Shawn said, taking off his jacket and handing it to Yanina.
Yanina finally realized that climbing through the window had to her shirt, exposing her smooth skin and slightly revealing her undergarments… Her elegant figure was clearly visible. She quickly took the offered jacket and wrapped it around her.
As they exited the restroom, they spotted Gavin and Cameron heading their way. “Cameron, make sure you apologize to your wife later and smooth things over… Gavin was saying when he looked up, his words dying in his throat as he saw Yanina and Shawn coming out of the men’s room. Yanina was disheveled, with Shawn’s jacket wrapped around her.
What in the world had happened? Cameron’s eyes turned to ice, his gaze sharpening as he stepped forward and pulled Yanina close.
“Yanina, what’s going on?” Cameron’s demand was sharp, his eyes boring into Shawn.
Shawn just scratched his head, bewildered. He didn’t recognize Cameron.
Yanina was focused on the little girl in the women’s restroom. “You go help the girl, I’ll handle this, she told Shawn
Nodding. Shawn turned to leave, but Cameron blocked his path.
“Explain! What were you two doing in there?” Cameron’s voice was a thunderclap, his anger palpable.
Yanina was taken aback. Has he forgotten they were divorced? He’s been showing off Callie like she was his prized possession, yet he dared to question ine? It was all just a misunderstanding!
She pushed past Cameron. “Helping someone is more important Shawn, go. She shook off Cameron’s grip and met his gaze with a cold stare. “Stay out of my business!”
