Chapter 24
The director continued, “9.3 million d
dollars!”

Yetta froze when she heard the amount. 9.3 million dollars, after taxes and the company’s cut. How much did that painting actually sell for? Yetta couldn’t even wrap her head around it.
Yanina nodded and said calmly, “As I mentioned in the livestream, all this money will go toward buying abstract expressionism painting tools for kids in remote mountain areas.
Yetta stared at Yanina’s nonchalant face, as if the money didn’t mean a thing to her. It made Yetta feel a bit powerless. Then it hit her: Yanina wasn’t fazed by billions. A few million wasn’t going to sway her.
Shawn observed Yanina, his interest visibly piqued. Donating millions all at once? This girl truly is one–of–a–kind. Looks like I’ve got to work harder… he thought.
Before long, news of Yanina’s painting and charitable donation spread like wildfire across entertainment headlines. Even high–end international brands took notice of this intriguing and charming beauty.
Christina stumbled upon the report online and fumed, almost smashing everything in the room. She shouted in frustration, “Why? Why? It’s just a painting! How can it make her this famous?
“Steven, what kind of trolls did you find? They aren’t slinging mud at Yanina at all; they’re all just her supporters!”
Steven rushed to calm her down. “Don’t worry, Chris. Sure, she’s in the limelight now, but just wait there’ll be a time for her to regret it. I’ve got a plan… He narrowed his eyes slightly, smirking.
“What’s your plan?” Christina asked, her curiosity piqued.
Steven leaned in and whispered something in her ear…
Meanwhile, Yanina and Yetta had taken Shawn back to SouthHaven Apartments.
“I ordered takeout from the supermarket and picked up some groceries, Yetta said. “You two are now public figures, so it’s probably best not to go out.”
She felt a little overwhelmed. It seemed like being this popular wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
The moment they stepped out of Goldenlight Entertainment, they were swarmed by reporters and fans, forcing them to make a hasty exit through the underground parking.
Just then, there was a loud sound at the door.
That should be the food. I’ll get it,” Yanina said, getting up to answer the door.
Expecting the delivery guy, she swung the door open, only to find a familiar face. “Cameron? What brings you here?”
Cameron stayed silent, and suddenly he spotted Shawn sauntering over in slippers.
“Got a lot of takeout? Need me to help carry it?” Shawn asked, sounding overly friendly as if he and Yanina were old pals.
Cameron’s eyes narrowed at that, his expression darkening Shawn caught the hostile vibe and exchanged a tense glance with Cameron. Yanina could practically sense the tension in the air
Cameron frowned, pushing past Yanina and stepping inside.
“What’s he doing here? Cameron’s displeasure was palpable, his tone dripping with disdain.

Yanina frowned in return. Is he implying I’m cheating?‘ she thought.
“If you need to talk in private. Ms. Clark and 1 can step away, Shawn suggested, an awkward smile plastered on his face.
Eager for some time alone with Shawn, Yetta jumped in. “Yani, you two chat. Shawn and I will hang out on the balcony.”
With that, she grabbed Shawn and headed outside, her smile practically glowing.
Cameron’s expression softened a bit at the sight.
Yanina took a deep breath, feeling calmer now. “So, what’s up?” she asked.
“I’m heading out for about a week. If you need anything, call Zak Cameron replied casually.
“You don’t need to tell me when you leave,” Yanina shot back, glancing at him.
Cameron had planned to warn her to avoid Christina if she visited Carl at the Zamora residence, but her response cut him. off
Then, he changed the subject. “I saw your live stream. Even if it’s a fake relationship for show, you went a bit overboard.
Don’t forget–Grandpa doesn’t even know we’re divorced. What will he think if he sees that?”
Yanina frowned a little. “Even without the live stream, he will find out about the divorce eventually.”
Cameron figured this would make her see his “good intentions. But she seemed as unyielding as a machine.
He thought, ‘A divorce certificate–could it really sever our bond from all those years?’
Cameron pointed toward the balcony, his eyes flashing with urgency. “You need to steer clear of him. Trust me, that guy’s family is seriously complicated.”
Yanina laughed lightly and said, “Complicated? Have you seen your own family? You left me to track down Callie, and that was some real drama.”
“Callie is different! Cameron’s voice rose, anger evident in his reddened eyes.
Yanina raised an eyebrow. She had noticed that mentioning Callie always seemed to set him off.
“So why is Shawn any different?” she shot back, feeling the frustration bubbling up.
Cameron regarded her, teeth clenched. “Yanina, don’t say you’ll regret this.”
T
“I never regret what 4 do,” Yanina replied coolly, and her words hit Cameron like a punch to the gut.
She was clear–she had no regrets about their divorce, and she wouldn’t change her mind. But what about him?
Cameron hadn’t considered that until now. Being back with Yana stirred up a longing he thought was buried–a craving for her lips, her touch, everything about her.
He couldn’t help want to treat her nicely and make her happy. It was him who was left regretting.
Just then, the doorbell rang, breaking the tension. Shawn dashed over to grab the food, but Cameron was blocking the doorway
“Mr. Zamora, could you step aside?” Shawn said lightly, trying to diffuse the situation.
To Cameron, Shawn’s tone felt like a challenge, igniting a surge of unwarranted anger. This should be his home!!

Chapter 21
“You should be the one stepping aside! Shawn!” Cameron said, and without thinking, he swung at Shawn
Shawn evaded Cameron’s hand easily, almost as if he had anticipated the move.
“If you want to throw punches, take it outside. This is my house, Yanina said firmly, arms crossed, a cold stare locking onto both men
“Let’s just talk this out. No need for fighting” Yetta rushed in, panic in her eyes. She silently prayed. ‘Please, if there’s a fight, don’t hit Shawn’s face. What if it messes up my idol’s looks
Ignoring the chaos around her, Yanina moved to the door, taking the takeout bag. She glanced back at Cameron and asked. “Aren’t you leaving, Mr. Zamora?”
Cameron shot a fierce glare at everyone in the room before turning on his heel and walking away, not looking back.
Meanwhile, at a nursing home. Callie was watering the flowers when a shabby old man approached the door, a sycophantic smile plastered on his face. It was Charlie Bain, Callie’s uncle.
“Callie,” he said sweetly, Tm helpless. Please, a little money would go a long way—I just need enough for a piece of bread.
“I know it was my fault. I shouldn’t have sold you to Horralis. You’ve turned me into a beggar; it’s time to stop this nonsense.
