Chapter 37
Yanina shot him a glance, unfazed by Anders‘ threat. She felt no sympathy for someone so small–minded. “Go ahead and do whatever you want then,” she said.
At that moment, Christina was venting her frustrations on Steven. “Why is it always like this? Didn’t you say everything was
deleted?”
Steven explained, “I really deleted everything. How was I supposed to know Yanina would backtrack and recover the data? Listen, we need to talk to your mother and have her convince Shawn to drop the case, or else…
Shawn had the Haney family backing him. They couldn’t afford to get on their bad side.
Christina glared at Yanina, anger boiling inside her. She thought, It’s Yanina again! How does she manage to get everyone on her side! Sooner or later. I’ll make her pay for it!
“What a useless fool!” Christina spat, shoving Steven forward.
Stepping into the fray with a nervous laugh, Steven leaned in and said to Yanina in a low voice, “Yanina, we’re family. Let’s not make this bigger than it needs to be
Yanina chuckled. “Eamily? Christina didn’t think about family when she splashed hot water on me or when she was spreading lies about me. Now that things have backfired, you’re talking about family. Sorry, but I don’t see any goodwill from your side.”
Turning her gaze to Christina, Yanina’s voice turned cold. “You’re still young, so lying might be a forgivable mistake, but splashing hot water on someone and causing injury can’t be brushed aside. You’re already eighteen and should be responsible for your actions.”
With that, Yanina looked at the police officer present. The officer nodded and approached Christina. “Ms. Zamora, you’ll need to come with us.”
Panic set in for Christina. “No, I’m not going! I need to call my lawyer!”
The officer scoffed. “You can call your lawyer after you come with me to the precinct.”
Christina’s eyes widened in shock. She hadn’t expected things to escalate so quickly. Turning her gaze to Yanina, her eyes seethed with hatred. “If you keep pushing this, there’s no way you’re stepping foot in the Zamora residence again!”
Yanina had no intention of engaging further, but the mention of the Zamora family made her think of Cameron. He’s probably still tangled up with his old flame in Utravia, lost in their own world. Maybe I cared about the Zamora family before, but now, they are irrelevant to me, she mused.
“Who cares about the Zamora family? Yanina declared, her voice firm.
Christina shot her a disdainful glare, thinking. ‘Many debutantes are dying to marry Cameron, but Yaning has the audacity to say she doesn’t care. It’s pure jealousy
“You’re going to regret this! I promise you’ll pay for what you did today!” said Christina.
Yanina sinirked, retorting, “First, you need to get out of the precinct,”
They arrived at the police station. Yanina and Anders each took their statements and left, but Christina was detained for
assault.
Steven wrapped one arm around Christina, glaring at Yanina’s reating figure with a cold gaze. “Don’t worry, Christina. I’l make sure she pays for this,” said Steven

Chapter 37
As Yanina stepped out of the station, Anders emerged behind her, his face darkened with irritation. “Yanina, what’s the benefit of doing this?”
Yanina turned, shooting a sharp glance at Anders. “And what’s in it for you to help Christina?”
With that. Yanina walked away, her demeanor composed and unfazed. Not far off, Zak hurried over, clearly anxious. “Mrs Zamora, I’m sorry for what happened. I just learned about the Universe Media incident. It was all planned by Christina, at Mr. Zamora had nothing to do with it.”
Yanina shot a cold look at Zak. Tm telling you for the last time I’m not Mrs. Zamora anymore. Please relay to Mrs. Sher Zamora that I won’t drop the lawsuit over attempts to slander my name. And don’t show up in front of me again!”
Zak bowed respectfully, saying, “You will always be Mrs. Zamora in my eyes. I’ll make sure to pass on your message. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to call.”
Without another word, Yanina turned and got into a nearby taxi
Anders watched the young man driving a Rolls–Royce and felt he looked familiar. It wasn’t until the car disappeared from view that he remembered–the guy was the assistant to the CEO of the Everbright Group. Yet just moments ago, he had been so respectful in front of Yanina. And now, the respectable daughter of the Zamora family, Christina, was still locked u at the station.
“What’s going on? Is Yanina’s status above Christina’s? No wonder Yanina has the guts to send Christina to the police station. Anders thought as he slapped his forehead, regretting his choices–he had backed the wrong horse today.
After leaving the police station, Yanina didn’t head straight home. Instead, she went to the hospital to visit Shawn. He had been injured protecting her. If it hadn’t been for Shawn, she might have been the one lying in that bed.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Yanina found Shawn’s room and pushed the door open. Shawn was lying in bed, snacking on some fruit. When he saw Yanina, he greeted her with a grin, “Did you finish up at the station?”
Yanina nodded, taking in Shawn’s condition. His back had been treated and was wrapped carefully with gauze.
“I really appreciate what you did today,” Yanina thanked him sincerely.
“Not enough. If you really want to thank me, show me some real sincerity, Shawn said, flashing a teasing smile. He held up two fingers, implying that this was the second time he had helpell her, and just like the first time, he jokingly suggested that she could consider marrying him.
Yanina couldn’t help but laugh, knowing he was just trying to lighten her guilt. I’m sorry, but I’m just not interested in you,” she waved her hand dismissively.
“They say the best way to heal from a heartbreak is to start a new romance. Want to give it a shot?” Shawn suggested, flexing his chest muscles like a show–off.
“No need for that; I’ve moved on,” Yanina replied, though she couldn’t look Shawn in the eye. Only she knew that Cameron still held a significant place in her heart. Until she completely forgot about him, starting a new relationship–seemned impossible
Shawn watched her. With her head slightly bowed, her jawline looked perfect and was paired with her subtly sad eyes and alluring lips, making him want to reach out and kiss her.
Just as die began to lean in to touch her lips, Scott, Shawn’s assistant, barged into the room, followed by Yetta, who was carrying takeout “Yanina, you’re here? I just bought some food for Shawn. Come cat with us.”
Scott shot a side glance at Yanina, barely masking his resented. He knew Shown had taken the scaling hot water for her, and be wasn’t too pleased. “Shawn needs to resti no unauthorized visitors allowed from now on
“Unauthorized visitors included Yanina

I’m fine.” Shawn smiled at Yanina.

“Mr. Haney, you have to fly to Mandora tomorrow. What if your injury flares up while filming? You should eat the food, and I’ll get some doctors to prescribe medication. You need to focus on your recovery… Scott started, but Shawn shot him a glare.
“I said I’m fine.” Shawn snapped back.
“He’s just looking out for you. You really should take your recovery seriously; this injury could take at least two weeks to heal” Yanina chimed in.
Shawn’s injury would definitely require proper care, but given their unique circumstances, the filming had to go on. They were leaving for Mandora the next evening, leaving Shawn only tonight to recover.
“Only my shoulder is hurt; it won’t hold me back, Shawn replied, leaning toward Yanina teasingly. “Maybe we should try something fun. Everything else is perfectly fine.”
