Chapter 9
Yanina had always known Cameron’s heart wasn’t truly hers. What started as brotherly concern turned into a marriage devoid of real affection Basic kindness was a rarity in their relationship, and their union felt more like a silent arrangement than a partnership.
The divorce wasn’t about Callie, it was because Cameron didn’t love her. Yanina often recalled the look of genuine worry on Cameron’s face when Callie had that nosebleed. Maybe Callie was the only one Cameron ever truly loved.
“Ms. Stark,” Yanina said softly, “my divorce from Cameron isist your burden. It’s between him and me. You’re young, and with the right treatment, there’s always hope for miracles
Callie’s frail form seemed to shrink with each labored breath. “Please, Ms. Fulbright, don’t misunderstand. I just want you to forgive me and not leave Cam Hell be all alone!”
That’s his choice. Ms. Stark. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going
Callie reached out, but Yanina was already on her feet. “Goodbye”
Walking down the street after leaving the cafe, Yanina’s phone rang. It was Yetta. “Hey Yetta, what’s up?” Yanina asked.
The contract with Goldenlight Entertainment is set. They want to meet for dinner to discuss the streaming. I told them you were tied up today, but Mr. Yates seemed a bit miffed. Have you crossed paths with him before?” Yetta inquired, her voice puzzled
“Mr. Yates. Yanina sighed at the mention of the name. Warren Yates from Goldenlight Entertainment–Mabel’s younger brother Word of the “Heritage Rose” teacup incident must have reached him. Tomorrow’s dinner might be an opportunity for Warren to confront her.
But with the contract signed, backing out now would mean a hefty penalty. It looked like facing Warren was unavoidable
That afternoon, after wrapping up her stream, Yanina changed into casual clothes. Yetta, on the other hand, slipped into a sleek black business outfit. Yanina couldn’t help but notice the neckline, which dipped just low enough to subtly showcase
Venta caught Yanina’s gaze, her cheeks flushing, and she quickly adjusted her clothing. “Why the staring?”
“Ms Clark, your outfit today is more date night than business dinner, don’t you think?” Yanina teased, grinning
Venta linked arms with Yanina and playfully swatted her. “Hey, we’re meeting our idol today. Shawn’s not just anyone; he’s a Goldenlight sharehalder and will be joining us. Of course, I want to look my best and make a great impression!”
“And you, in jeans and a white shirt? What a waste of your fabulous figure!” Yetta teased, giving Yanina a cheeky pat on the
back
Lauglung and chutting, they arrived at the hotel. As they approached the entrance, Gavin stepped out. “Hey. Yanina! You bere alone? Where‘) Cameron?” Cavin greeted Yanina, his expression puzzled.
Gavin Wlute had been friends with Cameron stove childhood and met Yar when she first moved to the Zamora

After his comment, Gavin leaned closer to Yanina and smiled, “Don’t worry, I’m totally on your side!”
Yanina shook her head, about to explain, but Gavin didn’t give her a chance. He hopped into his car, waved goodbye, and drove off. Yanina just offered a wry smile, deciding to let it go, as she and Yetta headed into the hotel.
The dinner wasn’t a big crowd. When Yanina and Yetta walked into the private room, they found only seven people. Warren, Goldenlight Entertainment’s GM, was there, along with Sean, the go–between, Tamara Harnett from finance, and a couple of other execs. Shawn was missing.
As Yanina entered, the room greeted her with warm smiles and compliments. “Ms. Fulbright, you’re even more stunning in person than on your livestreams!”
“Universe Media really blew it letting a star like you go. They didn’t know what they had…”
“Ms. Fulbright, at Goldenlight, we’re going to make you our top female streamer!”
Yanina responded with a soft smile. “You’re all too kind,” she said.
The chatter was light until Tamara snorted coldly, giving Yanina a sidelong glance. Yanina hadn’t met her, but she knew the family ties–Warren’s niece, Mabel’s daughter. Word was Sherry had tried to set her up with Cameron. No wonder the frosty welcome.
“Sorry, I’m late,” a relaxed voice announced from the doorway, breaking the tension.
All
eyes turned to the door, but Yetta was the first on her feet, rushing over. “Shawn! I’m a huge fan. Can I get a picture with
you?
Shawn nodded, setting his motorcycle helmet on the table. With the sunset behind him, he looked even more impressive, like a Greek god.
Yanina frowned when she saw him. He was the biker who helped her with those thugs. No wonder he said, “We’ll meet again, He’d recognized her and knew she was signing with Goldenlight.
After a photo with Yetta, Shawn looked at Yanina and smiled. “Ms. Fulbright, we meet again.”
Yanina nodded politely, about to thank him for his help when Tamara’s sharp voice cut in. “You two know each other?” she asked, standing up and looking shocked.
“We’ve met,” Shawn replied, casually sitting next to Yanina.
Tamara’s anger was palpable. That wretched woman, trying to get to Cameron and now Shawn!”
Warren cleared he throat. Tonight, we’re here to welcome Ms. Fulbright to Goldenlight. I’m sure our partnership will be wonderful…
After the initial niceties, everyone raised their glasses, and Yanina took a sip.
Tamara forced a smile, poured a drink, and then raised her glass to Yanina with a barbed remark “Who’d have thought Mrs. Zamora, with her billions, would be slumming it with us streamers? What’s the matter? Isn’t the Zamora fortune enough for
you?”
