Chapter 74
“Don’t you dare! Shawn slapped the bed frame, pushing himself up.
Just try it!” Marlene saw Shawn’s expression, knowing she struck a nerve, and left the hospital room with a sneer.
Shawn slammed his hand on the table, causing the flowers brought by Yanina to fall to the ground.
“Should we send people to protect Ms. Fulbright?” Scott asked tentatively.
“Yes, go ahead,” Shawn muttered, touching the spot where Yanina had just been sitting, his eyes darkening.
Yanina had just left the hospital room and was stopped by two men who looked like bodyguards before she reached the elevator.
One of them said, “Miss, please wait. Our madam would like to speak with you.”
Yanina glanced at the time and said. Ten minutes.”
Before long. Marlene appeared in front of Yanina and said coldly “Ms. Fulbright
“Hello, you have eight minutes left,” Yanina replied.
Marlene didn’t feel offended and even smiled, Tll get straight to the point. Shawn isn’t right for you. The Haney family needs a daughter–in–law who has a high social status and her own ideas. So, please stay away from my son.”
Yanina had anticipated that Marlene would say something like this.
Yanina thought, ‘But according to TV drama plots, Marlene should be handing me a check and warning me off. Why isn’t she following the usual script?’
She said, “Mrs. Haney, Shawn and I are just colleagues. You’ve got it all wrong. Besides, I have no other thought about him. You can relax. I’m leaving now, Goodbye.”
Marlene didn’t get the response she wanted, and her face turned upset.
Moreover, from Yanina’s expression, it was clear Shawn didn’t attract her attention at all. That kind of indifference couldn’t be faked.
Marlene thought,
‘Am I overthinking it? Or is Shawn just harboring a one–sided crush and flattering himself?”
Yanina didn’t have time to care about Marlene’s feelings and simply returned to the door of Yetta’s hospital room, but before she could open it, the caregiver stopped her with a worried look, asking, “Did Ms. Clark tell you about her changing the
room?”
Yanina noticed the anxious look on the caregiver’s face and replied with a slight frown, “She mentioned it, saying an emergency patient was admitted to the VIP room, so the hospital temporarily moved her to a regular room. Anything more
behind this?”
The caregiver sighed, “Ms. Fulbright, your friend didn’t tell you the truth because she didn’t want you to worry. You have no idea how aggressive those people were when they came to take over the room yesterday. A bunch of them barged in and demanded we clear out. They said the deputy mayor’s daughter had a fever and needed to be hospitalized right away, and they insisted on taking the room! Ms. Clark was upset and tried to argue, but they were so intimidating. Plus, she was unwell, so she had to move out I wanted to call you afterward, but she didn’t want to disturb your rest, so…
The caregiver sighed again.
Yanina kept a calm demeanor, but she was clenching her hands more and more tightly.

Chapter 74
Yanina thought. Yetta didn’t want to cause me trouble, so she chose to endure silently and bear the grievance herself. Am I just too easy to push around, bringing so much trouble to myself and my loved ones? If I had shown my true strength earlier, would Callie and Christina have thought twice? Would Yetta have been hurt? What’s the big deal with the deputy mayor’s daughter?
“Alright, I see. Thanks a lot. My friend will be discharged sometime this week, but I would really like you to come back and take care of her for a few more days. Yanina suppressed her anger as she spoke.
The caregiver gladly agreed.
Yanina pushed the door open and entered the hospital room.
You’re back.” Yetta greeted her with a smile.
Yanina looked at her with distress, thinking. Even though Yetta is aggrieved and downcast, she still acts carefree in front of
- me.
Yanina’s eyes were filled with tears as she went over and hugged Yetta, saying. “Yetta, I promise I’ll find a remedy to make your face even smoother and prettier than before.”
Yetta hugged Yanina back with one arm and replied, “Don’t be sad. I’m really fine. I can eat and sleep well. I’m strong. Oh, by the way. I just saw Shawn’s post on Twitter. Did he get hurt?”
Yanina wiped her tears, looking at Yetta resignedly and thinking. Even now, Yetta is concerned about her idol’s safety “Yeah, he had a car accident,” Yanina said.
“Oh, my poor Shawn! I have to go see him!” Yetta looked heartbroken.
“You need to rest. Wait until you’re discharged to visit him. Otherwise, it’ll be one patient visiting another. That’s bad luck!” Yanina joked with a smile.
Yetta pouted.
“Well, I’m heading to the office. I have to do a livestream and shoot a video today,” Yanina said as she turned to leave.
But Yetta stopped her. “Wait, there’s a skincare company that wants you to be their spokesperson, Yetta said, pulling out her phone and browsing through her messages. “Let me check its name. Oh, it’s called M&S, and they’re offering better terms than Blurberry! Should we work with them?
“You’re my agent. It’s up to you,” Yanina replied,
Yetta nodded. “Alright then, you can leave now. I’ll research this company a bit more. That’s so strange. It’s clearly a foreign brand, but their skincare line has an English name, Nirvana.”
“Nirvana?” Yanina felt a little spaced out, wondering. Why does it sound so familiar?”
Yanina’s mind drifted back to a conversation she and Cameron had while driving back from Mika’s house in Mandora,
“Give it a name.” Cameron said.
“Nirvana, Yanina replied.
She hoped that after life’s trials, Mika would reach the nirvana.
Yanina wondered. Is it a coincidence?
“What’s wrong?” Yetta interrupted Yanina’s thoughts.

“Nothing. I’m heading out, Yanina said.

Yanina arrived at the hospital parking lot and got into her car, but she didn’t leave right away.
Instead, she pulled out her laptop and typed in a few lines of code, and then the screen turned black.
She hacked into the hospital’s security system through the public network and quickly accessed the surveillance video from the hallway outside the ward that night.
The lights in Yetta’s room were off, but a few strong men and women barged in and switched them on. A few minutes later, Yetta was assisted out of the room by a nurse,
But those people dumped all of Yetta’s belongings that hadn’t been taken out yet on the floor. Before long, the daughter of the so–called deputy mayor was brought into the hospital room. Doctors and nurses surrounded her. It was quite a scene.
Yanina watched with a hint of sarcasm at the corners of her mouth.
The video was quickly copied, edited, and posted on the hospital’s official website.
The headline was very eye–catching. “Deputy Mayor’s Daughter Sought Treatment Late at Night and Forced a Patient Out of the Room!”
