Chapter 7
After spending a month in the hospital, I finally recovered, and my voice, which had been silenced by poison, was also healed.
On the day of my discharge, Stella came to pick me up.
While helping me pack my belongings, she said, “Lilith, you’ve been in the hospital all this time, so you don’t know yet. They’ve found the cause of the company fire.”
I quickly asked, “Was it deliberate or an accident?”
Stella replied, “It was Isabella’s doing. She saw you enter the warehouse and decided to set it on fire to kill you, then disguise it as an accident. However, her methods were so clumsy that firefighters and police saw through her deception immediately.”
I was extremely surprised. “Isabella actually wanted to burn me alive?”
“Yes, Isabella said she had always hoped you would divorce Mr. Parker, but he refused. When she saw you frequently visiting the warehouse, she impulsively came up with this terrible plan.”
“And now she’s…”
“She’s in custody. She’ll likely be prosecuted and definitely face prison time. Her impulsive action has devastated our company. The building is destroyed, nothing remains, we can’t deliver

goods or conduct business, Mr. .. is extremely anxious now, not knowing what to do!
Just then, Orlando appeared with his lawyer.
He gestured toward the lawyer with a slight nod. The lawyer quickly approached me and presented divorce papers.
“Mrs. Stewart, I’ve been commissioned by my client to handle your divorce proceedings. If you have no objections to this agreement, please sign it.”

I looked at the divorce papers and asked a question I already knew the answer to: “Orlando, why do you want to divorce me?”
Orlando sneered, “Do you even need to ask? If you hadn’t been jealous, would Isabella have lost her mind and started that fire? You’ve ruined me and reduced the company to this state. How can you still have the nerve to be my wife?”
“Even though the police determined that Isabella started the fire, you still believe everything is my fault?”
I felt deeply wronged, my voice breaking with emotion.
Orlando glared at me viciously: “Stop pretending to be the victim! Wasn’t this all your doing? Don’t forget, three years ago it was your jealousy and paranoia that harmed my mother!”
His voice suddenly stopped, and he slowly closed his eyes.
Losing his mother remained an unbearable pain for him.

Stella, seeing the contents of the agrement, quickly tried to stop me: “Sis, you can’t sign this! If you do, you’ll leave this marriage with nothing! Mr. Parker is clearly the one at fault, and you’ve done nothing wrong. Why should you walk away without a penny?”
I didn’t care about possessions that weren’t truly mine; I just wanted to end my relationship with Orlando quickly. From now on, we would go our separate ways, with no further connection.
The divorce papers bore both our signatures. After collecting both copies, the lawyer left to process the necessary paperwork.
“Lilith, be careful with your decisions. Once the divorce is finalized, I’ll have my lawyer notify you.”
Just as Orlando turned to leave, he collided with Amanda who was walking in.
Amanda looked confused: “Divorce? Who’s getting divorced?”
Suddenly realizing it was “me” and my wife ending our marriage, she shouted, “No way, brother! How can you divorce my sister–in–law? There’s no one in this world who’s better to you than she is! Quick, quick, cancel the divorce proceedings!”
Orlando dismissively said, “This is adult business. Why are you, a child, interfering? I’m definitely divorcing her!”

Orlando frowned and said coldly, “What nonsense are you
talking about? Mom passed away. How could we explain anything to her?”
Amanda immediately looked at me, and I shook my head, signaling her not to speak.
But she couldn’t hold back and shouted, “Mom isn’t dead at all! You definitely owe her an explanation!”
