Chapter 9
Orlando closed his eyes in agony, then slapped himself hard across the face.
He smoked while berating himself, “I’m not human! I’m an
animal!”
Suddenly coming to his senses, he hurriedly called his lawyer, “I don’t want a divorce anymore, Lilith, I won’t divorce you! I was wrong, I was being stupid, I foolishly believed others, I…”
I took the phone from his hand, shook my head, and said, “It’s too late now. Actually, I already submitted the divorce application to the court. Even if you hadn’t let the lawyer come today, the court would still send you a summons. This marriage -I’m definitely ending it.”
Orlando stared at me blankly, as if his soul had left his body.
He suddenly grabbed my legs, wailing like a child.
“But… but you all lied to me too! You told me my mother died in that car accident. If not for that, I wouldn’t have done those terrible things. Lilith, can’t we just call it even?”
“No.”
Thinking back to all the humiliation I’d endured over the past three years, I couldn’t help but laugh.

“How could we possibly be even? Even if your other had actually died in that accident, the one who shobe punished would be the driver at fault, not me. You were e one who blamed everything on me, you were the one who found so many women to hurt me time and again, and you were the one who spoiled Isabella so much that she thought replacing me would be casy.”
“You kicked me in the stomach, causing damage to my uterus and leaving me unable to have children. You also prevented doctors and nurses from treating me, nearly costing me my life…”
“Stop! Please stop talking!”
Orlando collapsed, covering his head with his hands, gasping for air with snot and tears mixing on his face.
“I’m sorry, truly sorry, it was all my fault. Everything was my fault. But I beg you, don’t leave me, please don’t leave. I’ve already lost my company; I can’t lose you too. Lilith, for the sake of our years of love, please give me one more chance, will you?”
I said nothing, just dialed the security guards downstairs.
Soon, two security guards came up and restrained Orlando from both sides.
And I, accompanied by the kind–hearted Isabella, successfully left the hospital.

Feeling guilty, Orlando gifted me all the assets under his name.
I accepted everything and took the money to live abroad.
Later, I happened to hear that on the day I left the country, Orlando drove recklessly trying to catch up with me, causing an accident that cost him a leg.
Yet I felt nothing.
Compared to the pain I had suffered, he had only lost a leg.
Later, Stella revealed to me that Orlando’s business had collapsed, and he had gone mentally unstable, ending up in a psychiatric hospital.
After Isabella was released from prison, she still thought she could get money from him, believing they could continue as before.
Unexpectedly, Orlando stabbed her outright.
