Chapter 134
Lola couldn’t quite put her feelings into words. Her chest felt tight, and even the calming music now seemed like noise.
“Mr. Sinclair,” she said, standing up and walking toward Dominick without meeting his gaze. “It’s getting late, and I should be heading home, or my family will be worried.”
Dominick’s brow furrowed. So, this was her reaction to seeing him with another woman.
She really didn’t care about him at all.
Today, he had gone out of his way, sacrificing his own image to promote her and her company, ensuring that many industry bigwigs were present.
And yet, this ungrateful girl remained indifferent to his efforts, just as before.
“What’s the rush?”
Lola’s tiny face showed apparent displeasure. “You’re busy now, Mr. Sinclair, and I don’t want to stay here any longer. What’s the point? I’ve done what you asked of me today. I’m leaving now.”
Without giving Dominick another chance to speak, Lola turned and left.
Finally, she had escaped this suffocating place.
As she stepped out of the club, her hurried steps slowed.
The cool breeze outside cleared her mind.
Without lingering, she quickly hailed a taxi and headed home.
After Lola left, Dominick’s expression remained stormy. Even those who wanted to discuss business with him didn’t dare approach.
Siobhan’s eyes flickered with a mix of emotions as she handed over a glass of red wine. “Well, you must have noticed that the young lady couldn’t care less about you. No matter who you’re with or what you do, she doesn’t seem to care.
“If that’s the case, there’s no need for you to stress over her. There are plenty of women out there who are into you. Why do you get so obsessed with her anyway? This isn’t the Dominick I know. I remember you used to be uninterested in any woman.
Dominick’s gaze darkened, but he didn’t answer Siobhan’s question.
“We’ve known each other since elementary school. Even though I was out of the country for a long time, you were way cooler as a kid than you are now.
“I have another important reason for being here. I’m here to discuss a business collaboration with your company. I’m being nice, aren’t I? I plan to lay out a few key projects from my company for us to discuss.”
Dominick snapped back to the present. He shouldn’t have been so anxious about Lola. He shouldn’t have listened to Siobhan carlier.
“We can talk about the collaboration later. It’s getting late. You should go back and get some rest,”
Siobhan’s smile faltered slightly. “Go back? I came to this party just for you, and now that I’m here, you’re ready to leave? That’s a bit rude, don’t you think?”
Dominick glanced at Siobhan and spoke calmly. “We’ll talk next time.”
With that, he left without giving Siobhan a chance to say more,

Lola’s face was full of fatigue, but she hid it well the moment she saw Ethan
“Ethan, I went out to dinner with friends. You re still up waiting for me?”
Ethan saw right through her lie but chose not to expose it. He knew better than anyone that she had been with Dominick.
However, keeping her out this late was downright excessive
“Well, next time you go out, make sure to call me first, okay?”
Lola nodded obediently. “Ethan, it’s late. Let’s go to bed.”
Ethan didn’t press further and smiled, “Our little boss has worked hard. Go get some rest.
Lola’s mask of composure fell away as soon as she got to her room. She was exhausted.
This was only the first day, but it felt like her real introduction to the business world.
She was surrounded by colleagues the past few days at the office, so it didn’t count.
Now, she realized Dominick had given her a harsh lesson.

He responded slowly in a deep, magnetic voice, “This is about teaching Lola to grow.
“And besides, haven’t you noticed?: Many people are eager to collaborate with the Lewis Group now, right? You should thank me for helping Lola learn and for solving your company’s problems”
Ethan scoffed, “Come on, I know your style. You must have scared Layla badly. She was completely out of it this morning, and I was worried sick”
But this was just the beginning of Dominick’s plan
