Once the others had left, Danna quickly apologized, saying, “Mr. Felix Fitzgerald, I’m sorry. I misspoke. I’ll leave now!”
Seeing that her goal had been achieved, Danna kept apologizing, swaying her hips as she made her way out.
With Felix’s temper, there might still be some drama ahead.
She couldn’t wait to watch the show unfold!
As she thought about Felix’s mood, Danna softly suggested, “Felix, maybe we should… change the place?”
“Eat.”
Felix didn’t even give her a chance to finish her sentence. Just then, the waiter brought the dishes, and he immediately put a piece of crab on her plate.
Caroline was speechless.
She smiled lightly, her clear eyes glistening with a hint of tears as she looked at the dishes. “Felix, I’m allergic to seafood.”
Felix furrowed his brows slightly and then swapped their plates without a word, casually saying, “I forgot.”

Felix tried to cover up his frustration, his voice sounding a little sharp.
No matter how much he tried to deceive himself, the dark, heavy expression on his face couldn’t be hidden.
As he watched Caroline eating quietly across from him, Felix’s mind couldn’t help but drift to Abigail.
On a sunny afternoon, the girl had patted him on the shoulder from behind, tilting her head with a smile as she suggested.
“Felix, I heard there’s a new private restaurant with amazing food. How about we celebrate our three–year anniversary
there?”
He thought, “How had I responded back then?
I had probably agreed…”
But on their anniversary, they never went!
He couldn’t even remember the excuse he gave for standing her
- up.
But over the years, he had broken promises to Abigail many times.

Meanwhile, Abigail and Marcus had finished their meal.

There was still a lot of food left, and Abigail, feeling full, hadn’t finished everything.
As she stood up to leave, she called out to Marcus, “Can you grab two takeout boxes from the front? There’s still quite a bit of food left. We shouldn’t waste it.”
Marcus was a little surprised.
He thought, “She was the daughter of a wealthy family, and she actually wanted to take leftovers?”
Seeing his hesitation, Abigail explained, “Go on. I might lose my job soon, so we’ll have to watch our spending. You know, in life, every penny counts.”
There was enough food to make another meal, and it really was delicious.
He thought, “Life…”
Just a simple word softened Marcus‘ expression.
He really wanted to say that he could support her without any problem, but thinking of her personality, he nodded in agreement.

Still, if anyone at Veridon found out that Marcus was packing. leftovers, they would probably laugh their heads off!

Abigail saw him agree and smiled with pleasure. She gave him a thumbs–up and said, “You’re such a good man, always listening to your wife!”
Well, people who made fun of him would never understand the joy in this.
Marcus kept his face calm, but inside, he was a whirlwind of emotions. With a straight face, he replied, “Thank you for the praise, honey. I’ll keep working hard to be the best husband and meet all of your needs!”
His tone was so serious, yet Abigail’s cheeks flushed with warmth.
She raised her hand and playfully pushed him on the chest. “Alright, go on now.”
Once Marcus left, Abigail’s smile grew even brighter.
She watched his tall figure for a moment and then turned to grab her bag from the chair.
But when she looked back, she found Felix staring at her intently…
