Noticing Troy’s gaze, Abigail turned to look at him.
Troy quickly averted his eyes and said softly but sincerely, “Thank you.”
“No need,” Abigail replied, her tone serious as she asked, “Are you the only child in your family?”
“I have an older brother and sister.”
“Then why didn’t they come to the hospital?”
“My brother has health issues, and as for my sister…” Troy paused for a moment, a flicker of hatred crossing his eyes as he said, “I wish she wasn’t one of us.”
Abigail’s expression tightened as she thought, “Does he hate his sister that much? It’s better not to reveal my identity yet.”
The surgery lasted a full four hours.
Abigail stayed by William and Troy’s side the whole time. without leaving.
When the green light lit up, William and Troy rushed to the operating room door first.

After such a long surgery, Charles himself was nearly exhausted. His face appeared somewhat pale, and he was covered in sweat.
“Dr. Weber, how is my wife?” William asked impatiently.
Charles took a breath and said slowly, “The surgery was very successful. She just needs to be observed in a regular ward for two days. Once her condition stabilizes, she can be discharged.”
Upon hearing this, both William and Troy sighed with relief, expressing their gratitude to Charles.
Charles supported William’s arm gently and said softly, “You don’t need to thank me. You should thank Dr. Richardson. Without him, this surgery wouldn’t have been possible.”
The surgery was far more dangerous than Charles had initially estimated.
If Osborn hadn’t remained calm under pressure, the surgery would not have gone so smoothly.
Only then did William and Troy remember to thank Osborn.
Osborn had just exited the operating room.
Although he appeared slightly better than Charles, his clothes were still soaked with sweat. The damp strands of hair on his forehead hung down as if he had just been pulled from the

When Charles turned around and saw this scene, his expression momentarily stiffened as he thought, “What is with the atmosphere between them? Mr. Fitzgerald isn’t facing a potential marriage crisis, is he?”
While Charles was lost in thought, William and Troy quickly walked over to break the ambiguous atmosphere between Abigail and Osborn.
“Dr. Richardson, thank you so much. You are truly my wife’s lifesaver.”
William wanted to shake hands with Osborn, but when he saw Osborn’s bony hands, he silently withdrew his own.
William’s hands were covered in thick calluses, and he didn’t want to make Osborn uncomfortable.
But the next moment, Osborn grabbed the half–retracted hand of William. “Mr. William Yannis, no need to thank me. Your wife was well taken care of by you all. Her surgery went smoothly thanks to your efforts as well.”
“Thank you, thank you.” The usually despised William gradually reddened his eyes.

tears.
After speaking with Osborn, William turned and pulled out a business card from his pocket to give to Abigail.
He smiled warmly and sincerely said, “Ms. Winchester, the person we should be most grateful to is you. Without you, this surgery wouldn’t have been possible.
“I have nothing to repay you with. Please take this business card. If you need a ride in the future, feel free to contact me. I won’t charge you.”
Adela’s surgery had been successful, and the weight on William’s heart had finally lifted.
His speech became more powerful, and he seemed to have gained a bit more vitality.
Abigail felt genuinely happy for him. She did not refuse and accepted the business card.
Looking at the honest, kind man who deeply loved his wife, she began to doubt what Caroline had once said.
