Chapter 89 VIP Invitation
The girl speaking rubbed her chin thoughtfully as she studied the dress.
When everyone got a good look at her face, the murmurs of doubt gradually died down because this girl was a princess in every sense of the word.
Lillian, the cherished jewel of the Brooks family and the pride of Claudia had a discerning eye and impeccable taste that far outshone everyone else in the room.
Lillian said calmly, “If I remember correctly, the flagship item of Flor’s collection is a custom–made haute couture gown, entirely hand–embroidered. It took three years to complete, with the hem adorned with top–tier diamonds. Just the belt alone could buy a house in Claudia. I don’t think I’d mistake it for something else.”
As soon as Lillian finished, Caroline and Natalia’s faces turned grim.
Abigail wasn’t wearing a knockoff. She was wearing something even more exquisite than haute couture. It was Flor’s legendary masterpiece. How could this be?
Natalia gave Caroline a reproachful look. Caroline had dragged her into this mess without knowing a thing, and now they were humiliated.

Caroline, seething but too intimidated to contradict Lillian in public, bit her lip in frustration. All she could do was glare venomously at Abigail.
Then, Caroline saw the black invitation in Abigail’s hand. A sudden idea struck her, and she blurted out, “Abigail, that invitation of yours. It must be fake, right?”
The Envision Group’s anniversary celebration had every employee exceptionally busy today.
The manager responsible for verifying invitations was called away at the last minute, leaving the task to a new hire.

Unfortunately, the new hire was just an intern and had no clue what Abigail’s invitation represented.
Flustered, the intern asked, “Ms. Winchester, this invitation does look different from the others. Could you tell me where you got it?” His tone was strictly professional, showing no intention of belittling Abigail.
Abigail was just about to explain that Anthony had given her the invitation when she heard someone sneering not far away.
“And where else could she have gotten it? Obviously, she paid for a fake one! The lengths some people will go to sneak into Envision’s anniversary celebration these days!” Danna sneered.
Others echoed, “Ugh, stop wasting time with her and kick her out already!”

One added, “If people using fake invitations can crash this event, I’m questioning its exclusivity!”
Another chimed in, “One bad apple like her will ruin Envision Group’s reputation!”
Hearing the murmurs, the intern responsible for verifying the invitations grew more and more uneasy. The pressure was getting to him.
The intern suspected the invitation might be fake, but then again, Abigail was wearing Flor’s crown jewel. He figured someone with that level of refinement wouldn’t stoop to this.
Caroline, always quick to gauge the situation, noticed the intern’s hesitation. Seizing the moment, she said, “None of us have ever seen Flor’s flagship item in person. Who’s to say the dress she’s wearing isn’t just a high–quality knockoff?”
At this, Lillian’s face darkened. She was about to retort, but Rene grabbed her arm and whispered, “Lillian, you know better than anyone what Flor’s masterpiece represents. Do you really think they’d casually let some fake socialite wear it?
“This is clearly a counterfeit. It’s just so well–made that even you were fooled.”
Lillian instinctively wanted to argue, but Rene’s words did make
some sense.
With a grim expression, Lillian said, “I don’t know what you’re

all arguing about, and frankly, I don’t care anymore!” These trivial disputes were far too much trouble for her.

As soon as Lillian left, everyone immediately assumed Abigail’s dress was a knockoff. The ridicule grew even louder.
Danna wasted no time urging the intern, “What are you waiting for? Kick this lying woman out! Just looking at her makes me sick!”
The intern sighed. With no way to handle the chaos, he reached for his pager to call security.
“What’s going on here? Why is everyone gathered here?” Before the intern could make the call, the manager, Leon Brown, who was in charge of the anniversary celebration, arrived.
The intern looked like he’d just been thrown a lifeline and hurried over to Leon. “Mr. Brown, Ms. Winchester’s invitation doesn’t match the others, and I can’t determine if it’s authentic.”
Leon took one look at the invitation. His expression changed instantly.
Noticing this, Caroline smirked, convinced the invitation was fake. “Abigail is doomed,” she thought.
Leon’s expression turned cold, not toward Abigail, but toward the intern, whom he immediately began to scold. “What’s wrong with you? How could you fail to recognize a VIP invitation?”
The intern’s face turned pale instantly, and he hurriedly bowed

in apology. “I’m so sorry, Mr. Brown. This was my oversight.”
It suddenly dawned on the intern that Leon had personally escorted the previous VIP guests, so he hadn’t gotten a close look at the unique design of the VIP invitations. He never expected he’d almost offend a VIP.
Caroline froze, thinking, “Wait… what? Abigail’s invitation isn’t fake. It’s… reserved for VIPS? This can’t be real!”
