The nurses avoided my gaze the moment they saw me, deliberately steering clear of meeting
my eyes.
Feeling confused and anxious inside, I urgently grabbed the arm of a young nurse.
“Didn’t you say Lily would receive her blood transfusion this morning? What happened?”
The young nurse looked at me in confusion.
“Huh? Wasn’t it Storm? We already finished giving the transfusion to that little boy.”
“My daughter is Lily! I donated blood for my daughter! Why did you give it to someone else?”
I was on the verge of breaking down, crying and shouting, drawing the attention of bystanders.
