He wasn’t here for me. He came rushing from a meeting as soon as he saw Londyn’s message.
Dressed in an expensive suit, with thin–framed glasses and his tie perfectly knotted, it was hard
to believe he was the man I knew–a man who

When Alpha Roman saw me, his face darkened, his brow furrowed tightly in irritation.
“What are you doing here? Go back and be with Lily!” he snapped.
“Luna Saylor is just confused by her concern. She knew Storm was getting better after his blood transfusion, so she came to congratulate me. Alpha Roman, don’t be angry with h -it might hurt your marital bond,” Londyn’s words made her appear particularly understanding and empathetic.
But as soon as she finished, she positioned herself behind Alpha Roman, intentionally letting him see her swollen face.
Alpha Roman’s eyes softened with concern as he gently stroked Londyn’s fair cheek, then
turned to scold me sharply

“You hit her, didn’t you? How come I never realized how vicious you are?”
Londyn’s tears fell in heavy, dramatic drops,
her false show of innocence as she clutched at
Roman’s sleeve.
“It’s nothing, Alpha Roman. I don’t mind!” she
cooed.
I couldn’t stand the act. Her pretentious gestures made my stomach churn, and at that moment, my emotions broke free like a .n collapsing.
I screamed at Londyn, my voice shaking with
rage.
“You have no right to mind it! If it weren’t for you driving drunk and crashing into my car, how could my Lily have bled out and broken so many bones? This is all your fault!”

“What are you going crazy for? You know exactly why Londyn was drunk driving, don’t you? If you hadn’t been calling me all the time, Londyn wouldn’t have felt so guilty for taking up so much of my time. The emotional pressure built up, and she ended up drowning her sorrows in alcohol! This is all your fault!”
“If anything happens to Lily, you’re the one who’ll have killed her! What does Londyn have
to do with it?”
Roman stepped forward, shielding Londyn, and pushed me back roughly, sending me stumbling.
“Alpha Roman, for Londyn’s sake, you’ll say anything, won’t you?”
“From the moment the car accident happened until now, our daughter needs blood. Where have you been? What have done?”

“I donated blood. Lily can’t use mine, did you let me know in time? Did you give me a chance to take action? You’ve done nothing! You’re doing this on purpose! You’re trying to kill my Lily!!
The man I had loved with all my heart, the one I had poured my best years into, stood there watching me cry in sorrow, and all I saw in his eyes was disgust.
“You’ve gone too far! I swear on my life, L will be fine! She’s two years older than Storm, and her health is fine! Stop worrying for nothing!”
“Get out of here, you’re disturbing Storm’s rest!”
A young nurse ran toward me.
“Lily’s mom, it’s bad! Lily just went into shock!”
The words hit me like a blow to the head, my

vision blurred, and my legs buckled, nearly
causing me to faint.
I forced myself to run to Lily’s bedside and grasp her cold hand.
Seeing my fragile Lily lying there, pale and unmoving on the bed, tears streamed down my
face.
Doctors and nurses surrounded her, and my heart felt like it was being pierced by a t‘ ‘Isand needles.
I saw Alpha Roman standing in the corner, and my anger surged inside me.
He seemed guilty, unable to meet my gaze, and turned to leave the room.
I rushed in front of him, grabbing his sleeve with all my strength.

“You heartless, short–sighted man, if anything happens to Lily, I will never forgive you!”
Alpha Roman took two steps back and forcefully shook off my hand.
“She’ll be fine. Stop making a scene. I’m an alpha. Do you really want all these wolves to laugh at me?”
With that, Alpha Roman left in frustration.
Watching his cold, retreating figure, my art felt like it was being shattered.
I stayed by Lily’s side, alone, until two hours later, when she finally opened her eyes.
“Mom, will I be okay again?”
