He dragged me to the hospital without even asking for my opinion, barking orders at the doctor to perform an abortion.
The doctor looked between the two of us, clearly unsure. “Sir, we can’t do anything without the patient’s consent.”
Caleb, still fuming, yanked out a household registration book and shoved it toward the doctor.
“I’m her brother!” he snapped, as if that would somehow settle everything.
The doctor hesitated, glancing at me. “Ma’am, do you agree with this? We can’t proceed without your approval.”
Under Caleb’s furious glare, I nodded.
The baby was already gone, so whether I had the procedure or not didn’t seem to matter anymore. The doctor sighed, clearly frustrated, and led me to the operating

room.
Half an hour later, he stormed out, angrily yanking his mask off. “What’s going on here? She just had a D&C a few days ago, and now she’s back? And she’s been drinking, which is strictly prohibited after a procedure like that! What kind of boyfriend lets her drink? Her uterus is already showing signs of infection!”
But Caleb didn’t care. He stopped listening after the part about the baby being gone.
Overjoyed, he grabbed me and pulled me into his arms, practically giddy. “Lily, this is great! You got rid of the baby, so you don’t care about that other guy! Thank you! I’m so happy! You’re being so smart about this!” His voice was bubbling with excitement. “Let’s go home, and I’ll make it up to you.”
I stepped back, pulling away from him.
He hadn’t even bothered to ask if I was in pain. He didn’t care about the infection and didn’t even care why I was here in the first

place.
The only thing that mattered to him was
his ego.
Just then, one of Caleb’s bodyguards
stepped forward and whispered something in his ear. “Mr. Grant, the hotel surveillance footage has been recovered. The woman that night wasn’t Miss Nina Walker, but-”
Caleb waved him off, still on his high. “I don’t care who it was. Right now, I want to focus on being with Lily.”
The bodyguard swallowed, looking nervous. “Sir, the woman from that night… was Miss Lily.”
The words hung in the air. It took Caleb a few seconds to process, and then slowly, he turned toward me, his eyes widening in shock.
“So… the child was ours?”
I looked back at him, a mocking smile curling across my lips.

Caleb grabbed my collar in a sudden, desperate move, his eyes wide with disbelief and pain. Tears were starting to form at the corners of his eyes.
“Why did you kill our baby?” His voice cracked. “Lily, don’t you have a heart? Didn’t you love me? How could you do this?”
I met his gaze, letting the weight of my words hit him. “Let me tell you something, Caleb. I didn’t kill our child–you did.”
His face went blank like he couldn’t even process what I said.
“I would not have lost our child if you had not frightened me with those snakes and caused me to fall down the stairs.”
Caleb froze.
His eyes flickered as he replayed that moment in his head. Then, like a switch flipped, he struck himself across the face.
“Fuck! Damn it!” he cursed, his voice

shaking. “I’m such a piece of trash!”
Panicking, Caleb grabbed my hand, trembling as he held it. “Lily, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, I didn’t know it was you that night. I thought it was…” His words stumbled out, tripping over his guilt. “Please forgive me. Let’s start over. I was wrong. I was so, so wrong!”
I pulled my hand out of his grasp, looking at him dead in the eye. This time, my words were steady and final. “Caleb, I’ve loved you for eight years. But now? I’m done. I’m exhausted.”
He blinked, looking so confused, like he couldn’t understand what I meant.
“I don’t love you anymore. Got it?”
It took a moment for the meaning to sink in.
Then his entire expression collapsed, and he burst into tears. “I’m sorry… Please, Lily, don’t stop loving me! I was wrong, okay?”

Desperate, he dragged, me toward the door,
his voice more frantic. “It’s all Nina’s fault!
That awful woman! I wouldn’t have hurt. you if she hadn’t pretended to be someone else. We can fix this. Let’s find her. We’ll
settle this!”
After the miscarriage and the drinking, I was too weak to say no. I just let him drag me outside as he stormed toward the car.
The engine roared to life, and we sped toward Nina’s house. It was only then that I realized Caleb had bought her a property. In just a few days, he’d done that for her.
Meanwhile, he hadn’t spent a single dime on my mother’s burial.
When we arrived, Caleb yanked me inside without even considering my reaction. Nina was sitting on the couch, completely oblivious, wearing a face mask.
Without even looking up, she said, “What, Caleb? If you’re here to apologize, let me save you the trouble. I’m not accepting it

unless you buy me another house. Otherwise, I won’t forgive you.”
Caleb’s eyes gleamed with fury. He walked up to her with a dark, sinister smile. Then, he picked up a bucket of water and poured it over her head without saying a word.
Nina screamed and jumped to her feet, glaring at me. “It’s you! You made Caleb come here to mess with me! How can you be so cruel?”
Caleb tossed the bucket aside, clapping his hands like he was shaking off dust. “You like bullying people, right? Well, today, you’ll going to know exactly what that feels like.”
He rolled his sleeves up and grabbed Nina by the hair, dragging her across the room toward the bathroom.
Her screams echoed louder and louder with each passing second.
As I watched, memories of her tormenting me in high school came flooding back. I

couldn’t handle it. I pressed my hands
tightly over my ears, trying to block out the
noise.
Then, a notification buzzed on my phone.
When I looked at the screen, it was trending news about Nina. Since Mr.
Reynolds exposed her bullying, more and more people came forward with their own stories.
‘Yes, I can confirm it. She bullied a girl in our class. I was shocked to see her trying to become a star. How can someone like that be an idol?‘
‘Boycott Nina! She also bullied my little sister in middle school. She went way too far!‘
‘How can someone like her be famous?
Please, get the police to ban that bitch!”
Without Caleb’s protection or the money to hire online trolls to defend her, Nina finally got the consequences she deserved.
