It was easy to get here but hard to get out.
“Mr. Eaton Sr. has only one daughter. He wants you to take care of her and keep her out of harm’s way, or else…” Kale didn’t finish his words, but the underlining meaning was clear.
Drake rubbed his temples. “I see. If she wants to move in, let her. As long as she doesn’t cause any trouble, I’ll protect her.”

just stepping stones for him. Once he had control of the Eaton family, he would have the necessary power to beat Marion
“I’ll arrange a room for her right away.”
Drake then recalled the revelation of Debra being the head of the McKinney Group. But even though she was powerful, she would yield to his drugs.
He murmured, “Hold out for as long as you can, Debra.”
The second wave of the drugs‘ effects was underway. Without the cure, no one could tough it out. He believed it wouldn’t take long before she crawled back to him.
The party ended. Randy and Erica directed their staff to clean up.
Debra watched them bicker and laughed. However, her laughter was short–lived as the
scent of tobacco on Drake invaded her senses, reminding her of her life in Orkgate.
Feeling a change in her body, she quickly headed towards the second floor.
Erica noticed it and muttered, “Debra seems a bit odd.”
Randy looked over and agreed, “Yeah, could she be pregnant?”
“What? Pregnant?” Erica exclaimed.
Marion, emerging from the first–floor restroom, happened to hear it. “Who is pregnant?”
Randy and Erica were startled by his voice. After calming down, Randy explained, “Debra went upstairs in a hurry like she’d had too much to drink.”
Erica chimed in, “Nonsense. She didn’t drink at all tonight.”
Marion was baffled, and she continued, “I saw Debra covering her mouth. Could she be pregnant?”
She looked at him and reminded him, “You two aren’t married yet, and you should be careful. Have you been taking proper precautions?”
Marion’s heart sank, and he dashed upstairs without a word.

Others might not know, but he was certain. Treating marriage and Debra with piety, he had always been careful with protection.
Pregnancy was impossible. There had to be something wrong with Debra’s health.
In the bedroom, Debra’s face was pale. Her vision blurred with Drake’s twisted face, and his mind was buzzing with his vicious voice. “Beg me, and I’ll save you.”
But begging was not in her dictionary. She stumbled into the bathroom, turning on the shower. The cold water shocked her senses, but the relief was brief.
The pain surged again and gnawed at her. She craved that edge–of–ecstasy feeling, but her rational mind screamed at her to resist.
Just then, a noise came from the door.
