Debra eyed the school emblem on Phoebe’s chest. “Miss Parker, I’ve heard about your high school. The annual tuition is in the seven figures. I doubt Parker’s salary could cover such expenses.”
Phoebe looked at her father with fear. Sibyl interjected, grasping anything that came to mind. “It’s my parents‘ money and has nothing to do with Parker.”
“Mrs. Parker, don’t be so hasty. I’m not finished yet,” Debra said, glancing at Parker. “This doesn’t even include the expenses for Parker’s mistress. I noticed that his secretary has quite a figure and some expensive jewelry. He has a wife, a daughter, and a mistress to support. I doubt his salary is enough for all that.”
“What?” Sibyl was surprised by the revelation.
Phoebe was equally shocked that her dad was keeping a mistress.
“Parker, how could you do this to me? You were a nobody when my family helped you rise. How dare you cheat on me? You won’t get away with this,” Sibyl snapped.
Debra signaled to the guards, who quickly untied Sibyl. Without missing a beat, she rushed up to Parker and started to hit him.
The henpecked man cowered, not daring to fight back.
As Parker’s face became bruised and scratched, Debra finally spoke up. “Alright. Your family drama is none of our business. Let’s talk about the Eaton family. Tell us how Parker made black money with them and lived it up, acting like a king here.”
“Ms. Frazier…” Parker started to protest, but Sibyl cut him off.
She revealed, “I know about this. I always wondered why he was coming home late these past few months. He told me he was working on a big deal, and suddenly there was an extra $50 million in his bank account. Every month, there was at least a year’s worth of salary in profits. Later, I found out he was secretly dealing with the Eaton family, setting up an underground casino. He pocketed all the money, not sharing a cent with anyone.”
“Shut up!” Parker erupted, slapping her.
Phoebe cried out and rushed to Sibyl. “Mom!”
Debra frowned at the guards. “Who told you to untie her too?”
The guards were confused, thinking Debra’s signal meant to untie both.
“How dare you hit me? I’ll reveal every detail of you betraying Mr. Houston. You’re going to rot in prison,” Sibyl snarled.
Before she could say more, Phoebe suddenly threw herself at Marion’s feet, clutching his
