The villa was grand and opulent, a rare estate in the heart of the bustling city center where land was worth its weight in gold.
Debra recalled Liza’s aggressive manners at the engagement party and finally grasped the root of Liza’s confidence.
It was clear that the Eaton family held immense power here.
“My people are outside,” Marion said. “Call me if anything goes wrong.
“Don’t worry,” Debra reassured him. “Melody cares too much about her reputation. She wouldn’t have made such a big scene if she planned to do something to me tonight. My goal is to get familiar with the local socialites and find out more about her relationship with Mr. Eaton Sr. If I can meet him, even better.”
Bert rarely appeared in public these days. The chance to meet such a prominent figure was too good to pass up.
