I opened my eyes abruptly to see Vanessa crying, her tear–streaked face flushed red.
“What are you crying for? Isn’t this what you wanted?”
Her tears flowed even harder.
Griffin stormed in, his face twisted with anger as he grabbed me by the collar.
“Logan, what kind of man are you? How dare you hurt Vanessa like this?!”
Vanessa shoved him aside forcefully. “Don’t touch him! He’s badly injured.”

Griffin’s frustration was palpable, the veins in his neck bulging.
“Vanessa, why are you still defending him? He’s cheated on you! Why humiliate yourself like this? You should dump him right now!”
“Shut up!” Vanessa’s voice rang out, sharp and commanding.
“This is between Logan and me. Stay out of it!”
She pushed Griffin toward the door and slammed it shut behind him.
I was taken aback.
Vanessa had never stood up for me like this before.
It was the first time I’d ever seen her argue with Griffin because of me.
She returned to my bedside, her voice soft and earnest.
“Logan, the person I’ve always cared about is you. There’s nothing between Griffin and me–it’s not what you think.”
I closed my eyes again, offering no response.
Vanessa looked at me with a mix of sadness and desperation, tears falling silently.
She seemed convinced that I was merely sulking, that everything would be fine if she just coaxed me enough.
But when I was discharged from the hospital and left with Brielle, she finally realized I wasn’t bluffing.
At first, she bombarded me with calls from different numbers.
When I blocked all unknown numbers, she found out where Bm E–Sports was based and began waiting outside the facility every day.
Sometimes, she brought food. Other times, flowers.
I never accepted any of it.
Even my teammates began to comment.
“Logan, that’s one gorgeous woman chasing after you. Why don’t you at least go talk to her?”
“Isn’t that Griffin’s girlfriend? Why’s she after you now? Did she switch teams?”
Their curious looks made me feel awkward.
To the outside world, Vanessa and Griffin were a picture–perfect couple.
Her actions only made it seem like I was the one breaking them up.
Brielle quickly stepped in, shutting down their gossip.
Quietly, she asked me, “Do you want to go out and talk to her?”
I thought about it for a moment before shaking my head.
I wasn’t the type to maintain ties with an ex, especially one like Vanessa.
There was no point in dragging it out.
Instead, I focused entirely on my rehab under the doctors‘ guidance.
Six months later, my hand had miraculously healed.

By the year’s end, a major professional league was announced.
I posted on social media, revealing that I would represent Bm E–Sports in the competition.
The internet exploded with buzz.
Bm E–Sports, a relatively new team that once struggled to qualify for tournaments, was now headed for the finals–all thanks to my leadership.
Griffin and Scarlett Monroe couldn’t believe it when they found out my underdog team was their opponent.
Griffin, clearly uneasy, knew exactly how formidable I could be in the jungler role.
A week before the match, negative rumors about me began circulating online.
Clips of edited videos painted me as a pathetic simp for Vanessa, flooding social media and tarnishing my reputation.
