Chapter 7
Cornelia wore that same sheer nightgown again.

This time, when she was crying her heart out, saying goodbye to Winston, he couldn’t hold back any longer.
He roughly tore apart the already scanty nightgown.
Then he carried her in his arms, whose legs had already gone jelly, and entered the bedroom.
I closed the app.
But Edmund didn’t let this go.
He texted me, saying, “Your husband has been in that room for a whole day and night. Want me to help you catch him cheating?”
“No need.” I texted back.
“Come on! Don’t you wanna punish them? You really bear to let them have their way?”
“You don’t get it. Only if they’re together will I feel satisfied.”
Two days later, Winston and I went to the City Hall to finalize our divorce.
The house, money, and son were all mine.

Although he left with nothing, he looked radiant.

Yeah, after staying celibate for half a year, sleeping with Cornelia. must feel like rain after a long drought for him.
As we walked out of the City Hall, he gave me an icy glance.
“Esther, you seriously think you won? Let me tell you, next year, my law firm will expand, and new partners will join me. By that time, my dividends will double. In other words, the money you fought so hard for isn’t even worth my annual salary.”
“As for Abbott, he’s too young to understand now. When he grows up, he’ll naturally realize who can help him more. By then, will you still be able to keep him?”
As he finished speaking, his legs suddenly gave way, and he fell flat on the ground.
He awkwardly got up and looked at his shoes, puzzled.
I quietly watched him and smiled.
“Well, congratulations, if you get to live to enjoy it.”
He frowned, wanting to say something else.
But I turned around and walked away briskly.
Not long after, Edmund deliberately barged in with a few friends while Cornelia and Winston were passionately lost in their own

world.
He snapped photos non–stop and threatened them.

Winston, utterly embarrassed, had no choice but to take out his remaining 300,000 in private savings to shut them up.
Cornelia cried, saying they must get married immediately and hold a grand wedding, or those thugs would surely spread rumors and cause trouble.
Later, Winston pledged his law firm’s equity and took out a 5 million loan, using part of it as a 20% down payment to buy Cornelia a house and the rest to host a grand wedding.
Before the wedding, Cornelia messaged me:
[Does your word still count?]
Her words carried a tone of sarcasm and smugness.
I replied: [Yes.]
On their wedding day, a piece of news went viral online.
The headline was “Famous Divorce Lawyer Gives Up Everything for Love.”
The comment section was blown up.
[Oh my god, this is so touching! He actually gives up everything just to be with his true love!]
Chapter 7
[I saw that woman on TV before. Life has never been easy on her, but she remains tough. She has finally found her Mr. Right!]

[Yeah, at least Winston is a decent man. He got divorced and left with nothing before marrying Cornelia. I can’t blame him for anything.]
[But I still feel a bit sad for his ex–wife…]
[Sad? I’m so jealous of her! She got the money, the house, and left the man who didn’t love her. Isn’t that great?]
That day, at the peak of the wedding, Cornelia, with tears in her eyes, announced excitedly, “Glad that we finally got married!”
All the guests present offered their heartfelt applause for them.
Including me.
