Chapter 10
Kevin’s Epilogue

Kevin knew that the moment he killed Noelle,
he had already begun to regret it.
He didn’t understand why he had agreed to Yolanda’s plan.
Did he love Yolanda?
He couldn’t be sure anymore.
In their year of marriage, he had moved from initial hatred and guilt to a harmonious life together.
What he had always been pursuing was, in truth, the simple dream of having a little home of his own.
But why even after finally achieving that did be

Perhaps there was something wrong with him.
He had grown fond of Noelle’s presence, or maybe he had simply gotten used to it, but when Yolanda came back into his life, he was
hopelessly in love with her all over again.
Yet, he realized he still leaned more toward
Yolanda.
She was his first love, the one he had promised
to love forever.
But why had he felt such sadness when he learned that Noelle was pregnant?
Why did he fall into despair for so long after her

He didn’t understand his own thoughts; he couldn’t see clearly into his own heart.

He might have loved Yolanda, but his conscience told him he should spend his life atoning for Noelle and their child.
Perhaps the heavens couldn’t bear to watch any longer, and his scapegoat led him to this point.

Bright and shining.
But she was supposed to be a little princess, and Stuart had lost her. He felt no guilt
whatsoever, and even in the end, Noelle
returned only to be bullied.
He needed to make amends.
Tears threatened to fall as he realized that after
Noelle’s death, he, Yolanda, Stuart, the Claytons -everyone, including himself–were the
executioners who had bullied Noelle.
Was there anyone left in the world who loved
Noelle?
Kevin’s heart ached; she seemed to have been
abandoned by the world
He closed his eyes and softly said:

“I killed her. Go find Stuart; he knows
everything.”
“Officer, I regret it.”
“Spending the rest of your life in prison,” that was the officer’s exact words.
To others, he probably looked like a piece of
scum.
He chuckled sarcastically; what was wrong with
that?
He himself admitted it–he was indeed a
worthless person.
That night in the police station, he dreamt of
Noelle for the first time.
He dreamt of her from that very night.

While Kevin and Yolanda were romantically watching meteors from the mountaintop, Noelle was being violated, and this was all orchestrated by the one he loved most.
When he woke up, his face was stained with
tears.
He had originally… prepared to live a good life
