Chapter 6
After the funeral, I followed Kevin back to our
home.
Was he not scared?
In our wedding room, he had killed me with his own hands.

He probably wasn’t afraid at all.

I watched him calmly open a bottle of alcohol. and drink it, settling into the couch.
There were still traces of blood on the couch, stains that hadn’t been cleaned away. But he
was still not frightened.
He just sat there in silence, staring at the popular TV show playing in front of him.
His phone rang. Kevin glanced down at the
screen.
I leaned in to see. The caller ID read “Elle.”
I watched as he answered.
Then, that familiar female voice echoed, and it
sent a jolt through my brain.
“Kevv. we can finally love each other openly.”

I hadn’t misheard. That voice was Yolanda’s.
I didn’t know how many times I had heard it, but now it made my entire body freeze.
Kevin remained silent. He looked a little sad.
I was desperate to understand, but Kevin refused to satisfy my curiosity.
“Elle, let’s end things here.”
“Let’s not contact each other anymore.”
Why did he call her Elle?
I couldn’t understand.
Suddenly, I wanted to dig up Yolanda’s grave. I wanted to see if she was really dead.
But the doctors couldn’t be wrong. Yolanda had
died in that car accident

Her body was cremated and buried in the
Graveyard.
All of this was making my head spin.
“Kevy, are you sad for Noelle?”
“Don’t forget, I almost died.”
“She took everything from me. She owes me!”
“Kevin, we’re the ones who love each other.”
“I’m your wife.”
That Elle seemed a bit unhinged. As I listened to her words, I still couldn’t quite determine who she really was.
Kevin abruptly hung up the phone.
I looked at him and understood that I wouldn’t
find any evidence now.

So, I turned and went to the Clayton family.
In Stuart’s room, I came across a photograph.
It featured a radiant Yolanda alongside a girl.
The girl looked so ordinary, so forgettable that she would vanish in a crowd.
But why had Stuart placed this photo by his
bedside?
Who was this girl, really?
Soon, someone provided me with an answer.
After showering, Stuart sat on the edge of his bed, his gaze unconsciously drifting to that photograph.
I heard him softly murmur,
“Fleise are you alright?“!

“Elle, it seems Yoli has changed.”
I began to understand.

“I can’t fathom what kind of love could
transform Kevin like this.
“Noe died at his hands.”
“I know the whole truth, but I can’t say it.”
“That’s Yoli.”
Stuart was deeply pained, yet his suffering paled in comparison to mine.
I was merely a pawn in their game–why?
I wanted to unleash my emotions, to scream, to cry, to go home.
They were my beloved family, yet they sought to
destroy me

If Kevin was the murderer,

then Stuart was his accomplice.
“I’m sorry, Noe, but Yoli is my sister.”
“I watched her grow up; I can’t abandon her.”
“I promised to always protect her.”
“Elle, you’ll forgive Yoli, won’t you?”
“You’re so kind; surely you can forgive us?”
He sat quietly in the room, enveloped by an air of pain and desolation.
I finally grasped the reality.
That day, “Yolanda” had indeed died.
What remained was “Eloise.”

It seemed that we were merely here to serve Yolanda’s love.
I didn’t understand; I just felt an intense hatred brewing within me.
I wished for them to suffer, to all die.
Why did I have to learn the truth only after my death?
Was this a punishment for me?
