Kieran took our wedding very seriously, personally overseeing every detail.
During the day, he ran between the company and the wedding venue.
At night, he sat in the living room, carefully writing invitation cards.
“Kieran, you can leave these things to the assistant. You’re already very busy with work, there’s no need to put in so much effort,” I said, standing at the bottom of the stairs, holding a cup and speaking to Kieran in the living room.
He put down his pen, smiled at me and said: “No matter what it is, I want to give you the best, Miss.”
“I know you may not have me in your heart, but you are in the deepest part of mine.”

The moment our eyes met, I was dazed for a moment, my heart skipping a beat in a way
it hadn’t for a long time.
“Miss, don’t feel any pressure,” Kieran said.
“Just focus on being a beautiful bride.”
Kieran was still smiling, the emotions in his eyes no longer hidden.
In the end, I smiled and nodded.
But I didn’t expect Silas to find me.
Kieran and I had just finished trying on our wedding attire when I saw Silas standing
under the plane tree across the street.
He wore a simple white shirt, his hair disheveled, his face slightly pale, his eyes without a
trace of light.
His gaze fell on Kieran’s and my clasped hands for a moment before shifting away.
Silas forced a smile and looked at me: “Thea, I’ve come to take you home.”
“We won’t wait until the beginning of next year. Let’s go back and remarry now, okay?”
As he spoke, he took a few steps towards us.
Kieran instinctively wanted to stand in front of me, but I stopped him.
As I straightened his slightly crooked tie, I said softly:
“You go wait in the car first.”
“I’ll be back soon. Mom made your favorite dish tonight, we’ll go home together later.”
Kieran looked down at me, the corners of his mouth slightly lifting as he responded:
“Okay.”
In the end, he glanced coldly at Silas before walking towards the parking garage.

Now only Silas and I were left on the roadside.
He subconsciously wanted to get closer to me, but I imperceptibly took a few steps back and
caid softly:
“Mr. Smith, let’s keep some distance between us. Otherwise, if the paparazzi catch us,
social media will be flooded with stories about how I can’t let go of my ex–husband.”
“People are always especially harsh on women.”
The incident with Jane was a good example. Even though it was Silas who misjudged the situation from beginning to end, in the end, I was the one criticized for not being generous
enough.
“Thea, I…” Silas’s eyes darkened, a bitter smile not reaching his eyes.
“I’ve already asked my assistant to handle the issues on social media. I’m sorry for letting you suffer.”
“I didn’t know you were going through so much trouble, I didn’t know-”
“Silas, you did know,” I looked at him and said flatly.
If he didn’t know that public opinion could make people depressed and suicidal, he
wouldn’t have chosen to divorce me to help Jane.
In my previous life, after I was framed for cheating with multiple male models and forced to divorce Silas, my reputation was ruined and my career plummeted. Everyone was laughing at me, even coming up to my face to ask: “Thea, how can you still have the face to live after being treated like this by your ex–husband?”
“If it were me, I would have jumped from the 18th floor.”
“Some Mrs. Smith she was. Silas clearly never cared about her, otherwise how could he
destroy her so thoroughly?”
Later, I suffered from insomnia every night, sitting by the floor–to–ceiling window looking
at the city lights.

I burned down my studio.
I also burned everything Silas had given me, as if doing so could erase Silas from my heart.
I vented all my grievances.
Hating why the boy who once had eyes only for me would send me to my doom.
In the end, I committed suicide by slitting my wrists.
To this day, I still remember the feeling of blood slowly draining from my body.
